Thank you to everyone who has sent good vibes, prayers, and well wishes for Eric’s recovery. 🙏🏼✨❤️‍🩹 He’s still in the surgical ICU today, but is making progress and doing well overall. We’re trying to get his pain better controlled than it currently is, because that’s the key to a good recovery. 🥺 He has a warrior’s spirit, as you all know, 💪🏼and he’s looking forward to the day when he can join you all again on a PackWalk!🐾 If you’re wondering, this photo was taken right before surgery. The “after” is too shocking for prime time.

What a brilliant idea!

An animal shelter posted something along the lines of "if you are an adult and don't want people to know you are playing pokemon, we will rent our shelter dogs to you for $5 an hour so it
looks like you are walking your dog." Haha, right? Here are some of the results so far:

1) They now have a waiting list of people who want to PAY FOR THE PRIVELAGE OF WALKING A DOG.

2) They have made so much money in "rental fees" that they have waived adoption fees

3) When the people renting the dogs are out walking, the post pictures of themselves playing the game on FB and Instagram. People are then coming to the
shelter asking to adopt specific dogs.

4) On at least two occasions, people have called the shelter and said "Hey, i didn't think I wanted a dog. But me and THIS dog get along REALLY well. I'm not bringing him back"

5) The shelter currently has no dogs avaliable to rent, and there is a waiting list. Because all of the dogs have been adopted!! They are currently bringing dogs in from a different shelter to be "rented"

If someone is willing to adopt him, we will donate a basic obedience program, worth over $1000.00, to train him up and keep him in his forever home. Please DM us for details. - Eric

This is a real problem here in SB. We run into off leash dogs that have no business being off leash. We have problems with owners who think it’s okay to allow their dog to greet every dog they meet, even when it’s not invited. We run into dogs inside restaurants, stores and other public places that dogs really don’t belong, and we deal with the results of these issues, every day, with dogs that develop fear based reactivity and/or aggression because of encounters with these owners and their dogs. Please have empathy and consideration when having your dog meet others and please be able to control your dog in any situation you decide to put them in. DO NOT SET YOUR DOG UP TO FAIL!

Are you a passionate and skilled dog trainer with a deep understanding of balanced training methods? If so, we want you to join our dynamic team!

Position: Experienced Dog Trainer
Type: Full-time (Part-time considered)

Responsibilities:

Conduct group training classes for dogs of various breeds and sizes.
Provide individualized one-on-one training sessions with clients.
Utilize balanced training methods to address behavioral issues and promote positive reinforcement.
Demonstrate expertise in handling difficult and potentially aggressive dogs.
Effectively communicate and educate clients on dog behavior, training techniques, and responsible pet ownership.
Navigate challenging situations with professionalism and a calm demeanor.
Exhibit strong interpersonal skills for client interactions and public speaking engagements.
Qualifications:

Proven experience as a dog trainer with a focus on balanced training methods.
Ability to handle difficult and aggressive dogs, though experience in this area is a plus.
Previous experience leading group training classes and conducting one-on-one sessions.
Excellent public speaking skills for group presentations.
Strong interpersonal skills, especially in handling challenging situations.
Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively as a team player.
Requirements:

Certification in dog training or related field is preferred.
Flexibility to work weekends or evenings as needed.
Passion for continuous learning and staying updated on the latest training techniques.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
