Mvskoke Art Market was a blast! "Continuum" bringing home the Mvskoke Heritage Award 💙 🎗️
Incredible weekend - thank you for putting on a great market!
'Nanvke heraken vkerracet owvces' - Think on the good things.
Inscribed on the ribbons, this scripture is inspired by the timeless words from Mvskoke elders Phillip Deere, Ida Bruner, Bobby Yargee, and Joy Harjo, these powerful phrases have nourished our spirits and sustained our people for generations.
Introducing "Continuum," a breathtaking portrayal of resilience and connection, now showcased at Mvskoke Art Market.
"A continuum is something that keeps on going, changing slowly over time." This profound statement encapsulates the essence of our piece. We are bound together by the ribbons of our language, Muscogee words that inspire and unite us.
Looking back-and-forth over time, the stick becomes a cane, and the woman who now sews was once the one who danced. Every detail in "Continuum" embodies the intergenerational journey of our people.
Modeled in granite, stainless steel, and bronze with Mvskoke models in Santa Fe, New Mexico, "Continuum" is a testament to our heritage and strength.
Join us at booth #104 this weekend in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and witness the enduring beauty of "Continuum" firsthand!
