Tomorrow, Saturday, July 15th and Sunday, July 16thy, SUNY Schenectady’s computer network infrastructure is undergoing the next phase of our significant upgrade. On-campus computing services will not be available during this time.

Work underway will replace and upgrade our main core network. This is the last full-scale outage to occur as part of our network upgrade. This is a critical cyber security step to keep our systems safe and secure.

While this work is underway, the Begley Learning Commons will be closed. No other on-campus computer services will be available. This includes offices, classrooms and other spaces on the Main Campus, Kindl Building, Center City, Center for Science & Technology and the Mill Lane Confectionary Laboratory.

During this on-campus outage, students, faculty and staff off-campus can access Office 365, E-Mail, OneDrive, and D2L Brightspace. There will be no VPN service, access to the Banner Enterprise system, local area network drives and on-campus printing via the network.

SUNY Schenectady County Community College is seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join our team as the Director of IT Operations. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer (CIO), the Director of IT Operations will provide strategic leadership and oversee the college's IT infrastructure, systems, and services. You will be responsible for managing a team of skilled IT professionals and ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of all technology resources. This includes project planning, budgeting, vendor relations, and personnel management. Supervisory responsibilities required in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training; planning and assigning projects/tasks; and appraising performance.

The sender of the e-mail shown below, appears to be Lorenzo W Masi, [email protected] email subject line of SCCC MICROSOFT365 EMAIL VERIFICATION.

There may be other Phish attempts from the same user please delete all emails and do not click on anything.

If you received such an e-mail and responded to it, please reach out to the college’s ITServices Helpdesk by calling (518)381-1487 or by emailing [email protected] so we can assist. In the meantime, the college has created a filter for such e-mails to quarantine a potential spread.

If you received the email and have not yet opened, clicked any link, or responded in any way to it, please feel free to treat it as Junk mail and block the sender.
