I wanted to take a moment and express my sincere gratitude and appreciation to a special person at the Schertz Senior Center. This person dedicated so much compassion, kindness and love into making sure the National Hispanic Heritage Month was a success. She took time to not only decorate the center, but reached out to performers to come to the center and entertain the members. Your generosity and thoughtfulness is undeniably appreciated.

What an AWESOME accomplishment for the senior center!!!

It’s been another fantastic week here at the Schertz Senior Center. Special thanks to Janet Yambo for the wonderful decorations for National Hispanic Heritage Month; thanks to our wonderful sponsors: Garcias Restaurant, Pallenqua Restaurant, WellMed for the cake. Our wonderful performers: Grupo Panama Lo Nuestro Dancers, Paul Davis Gonzalez the music performer and Mariachi Jaliscience graced us with music.

A very special thanks to Mayor Guiterrez for your support.

This has been an incredible experience for our senior center and we could not have done it with out the help and support from all that played a significant role in putting this together.

The Schertz Senior Center is getting a facelift. I am extremely excited to announce that after being closed for a long time, the library is finally ready to be reopened. The beginning of the transformation has begun. STAY TUNED FOR THE FINAL RESULTS!!!!!

The YMCA of Greater San Antonio is seeking proposals from qualified marketing, communications, and event planning agencies with familiarity working with non-profit organizations.

The Request for Proposals (RFP) outlines support for the development and ex*****on of a comprehensive campaign to commemorate the YMCA's 150th-anniversary celebration in 2026.

⚠ Schertz Family YMCA - Aquatics Center Closure Extended ⚠

Due to the scope of work and repairs that we have experienced from the damage from this past weekend, our team made the difficult decision to extend the closure for the Aquatics Center through Sunday, June 25, 2023.

We will reopen with regular operating hours Monday, June 26 at 5am.

We understand that this delay has been challenging for our entire community and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Most of all, we thank you all for your kindness and patience.

Programming, including swim lessons & pre-swim team, has either been shifted to another location or a different date for makeups. All participants are in the process of being contacted via phone number. If you have any questions on this session's lessons, please contact Alexis Chamberlain.

Group Ex classes have been canceled and all participants have been notified.

Out of an abundance of caution, the Splash Pad will remain closed. Follow us on social media and download our mobile app for any additional updates.
