“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” The Good Book
In 2015 Kitchen on the Street embarked on an exciting journey called Street Café. Each year the café has employed an average of 14 people; many are people working to overcome addiction so they can secure gainful employment and fulfill their life’s calling. The proceeds from Street Café are used to fund the Bags of Hope food backpack program that serves roughly 2,000 children each weekend of the school year. The café has served as an incredible awareness builder on our mission to turn hunger into hope one child at a time. But as the quote states, “to every thing there is a season”… and this remarkable season has come to an end.
We are so grateful to all of you that supported Street Café, you have been such a blessing to so many; it has been a true privilege getting to know you. Thanks to all the employees that gave their best to make Street Café “One of the Top 50 Places to eat in Phoenix” (per Yelp); your efforts truly TURNED HUNGER INTO HOPE…one child at a time!
We at Kitchen on the Street will be using the summer season to develop creative ways to improve volunteer experiences, as well as expand partnership opportunities and services within the community as we continue to serve food-insecure children through the Bags of Hope Program.
We invite you to continue to follow Kitchen on the Street via E-News (you can register for it on the home page at www.KitchenOnTheStreet.org), Facebook, Twitter or Instagram to learn about you can continue to support the mission! Email us at [email protected] to inquire about our catering services.
