Uranus is the planet of innovation, change, perhaps even metamorphosis. Mercury in Leo squared Uranus in Ta**us on August 3rd, and, right behind, the Sun in Leo completed its annual square with Uranus on August 6th. Change is in the air, especially this year! The new moon in Leo this Friday the 13th will makes this same square with Uranus too. Are we fighting the need to change somehow?
On a deeper level, one of most profound astrological signatures of 2021 is another square with Uranus, the ongoing square between Uranus and Saturn in Aquarius. It is more of a generational aspect, and it will continue to affect us even into 2022. If Uranus is change, Saturn is fixity and stability. There is a deep lesson for us to learn in this moment about how and why to change.
How can we restructure the resources in our lives for more freedom? How can we modify what we’ve designed for ourselves? How can we do our own thing, but perhaps a little differently than we normally do? How we can change the patterns we have for seeking pleasure?
These are some of the questions that are highlighted with these aspects to Uranus, this month and this year. Want to dive into change? Don’t do it alone. Reach out to set up a coaching session.
Need clarity?
The Sun / Mercury cazimi in Leo on August 1 opposed Saturn in Aquarius. Now is the time to face up to self-limiting beliefs and criticism. Where do you get to be your full self? How do you hold yourself accountable without letting your inner critic go wild? How do you keep a sense of self that has space for joy and creative expression as well as your shadow? This week is a great time to explore and find out.
Calling all Aquarius!
Although it’s technically Leo season, this is a major month for the sign opposite to Leo— Aquarius!
At the end of July, Jupiter retrograded back into Aquarius, where it will spend the rest of 2021 with the planet Saturn. If it feels like you’re taking a step back, you’re not imagining it. There’s something we are meant to go back and revisit. Jupiter co-present with Saturn in Aquarius has been a major signature during the COVID-19 pandemic, and these next six months may have us return to mask wearing, social distancing, and even some lockdown measures. Our break was fun while it lasted! But I also see a revisiting of the vaccines that were deployed in December (booster shots?) and potentially the availability of even more, newer vaccines during this time period.
We are also seeing two full moons in Aquarius this summer. The first full moon conjunct Saturn on July 23 started to expose the limits and faults in how we have set up our lives. The second full moon, on August 21, will be conjunct Jupiter, and it will point us toward hope, even as things may feel more serious and less fun than they were earlier this summer.
This summer’s Aquarian era is a major lesson in open-mindedness for all of us, finding the balance between sociability and aloofness— two hallmark qualities of the Water Bearer that seem especially prescient for summer socializing in a pandemic.
Have a lot of Aquarius energy in your chart? Curious about what Aquarius means for you? Set up a session to identify how you can marshal the lessons of the summer!
This is one of my favorite astrological moments of the year!! On May 13, Jupiter moves into Pisces and stays until July 28. Jupiter is the planet of luck, faith, expansion and manifestation, moving into one of the signs where it is most at home. It hasn’t been here since 2011. This is a taste of freedom, freedom to move, and sense of what will be possible in 2022 when Jupiter spends more of next year in one of its home signs.
In mythology Jupiter is the sky god, and here we get to experience the beneficence of the sky gods in the watery, dreamy sign of Pisces. It’s like the sky bringing the rain that is needed to wash away what we need to eliminate.
For the past 2+ years, Jupiter has been co-present with Saturn in Capricorn and then Aquarius, two Saturn ruled signs that have restricted Jupiter’s powers. Now in Pisces, Jupiter can work at its fullest power, co-present with Neptune in a sign that both of those planets are closely associated with. In the next few months, you may experience a release or flood of emotion and healing, and the medicine you need may be delivered. Dreams become reality with Jupiter in Pisces and, from now until the end of July, we get a sense of longer-term solutions that will come in early 2022. I, for one, can’t wait to experience this placement for the next few months!
Undersky friends! Today, May 12: Mercury in Gemini trine Saturn in Aquarius. This is really a great month for mutable signs— Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius,Pisces— and today is a good day if you are one of these signs! With these two planets in great placement and in a harmonious angle to each other, expect lasting connections to be made today. With Mercury in Gemini, your unique charm is on display. Saturn gives clarity in thinking, reaching agreement with ease, and the ability to make better decisions. It’s also possible to learn from others’ wisdom. Maybe I’m just talking to myself today, but I feel like it can be a productive day. Comment, like or share if you agree!
This month’s new moon is in Ta**us on May 11. New moons are a fresh start, perfect for intention setting, and charging up your power to manifest.
This new moon occurs just after Luna makes a conjunction to Uranus, the planet of upheaval, and it squares Saturn in Aquarius, suggesting that we may bristle a little more than usual against structure and confinement this month.
Ta**us energy reminds us that we have what we need, even if things go wrong. Check in with your body, emotions, senses as you set your intentions for the month. They will never steer you wrong. **us **uschallenge **us
Feeling lots of karma this month. What goes around comes back around.
Venus transits into Gemini on May 8 and will stay there until June 2. This is the time to go out and meet people, flirt, and be a social butterfly. Because Venus, the planet of connection, is in talkative Gemini — prepare to win someone over with words or first be attracted to a person’s mind or personality. This is a good month to practice being fun-loving and concentrate on your social life more than other parts of your life. Beware though, the shadow side of this placement may suggest the temptation to be fickle. Stick with what you’re drawn to initially, and if you happen to be a , it’s a great month for romance for you!
On May 3, Mercury moves into Gemini, one of its two domiciles, or signs of the zodiac where it is most at home.
Mercury in Gemini is curious and inquisitive. Communication can move things forward, but I personally see a lot of nervous energy and inability to focus ahead this month— am just talking about myself here? Maybe! But those are also very appropriate for Mercury in Gemini for everyone.
When it comes to Mercury, everyone seems to care the most about the retrograde periods, but that won’t happen again until the end of May, when Mercury retrograde kicks off with a square to Neptune on May 29. At that point, some of our closely held fantasies might get deflated a little bit, when what has been left unsaid comes back around again to haunt us or frustrate us with miscommunication and delay. In the meantime, try to focus, move forward on what you can, and be direct when you communicate this month.
This month’s full moon is in Scorpio on April 26. It is the first of several super-moons in 2021. A super-moon occurs when the moon is at its perigee, its closest point to Earth. Super-moons appear much larger than an ordinary moon because of this. A super-moon brings more clarity, truthfulness and understanding— which means that this month’s super-moon has the capacity to be even more impactful than usual.
This month’s full moon trines Mars in Gemini and squares Saturn in Aquarius. All full moons oppose the Sun, but it’s especially telling that, at this time, the Sun is in Ta**us approaching conjunction with Uranus, planet of shock and awe and change.
The pressure points of this month’s super-moon occur in the fixed signs— Moon in Scorpio, sign of deep transformation and manifestation; Saturn the lesson-bringer in Aquarius, square to both Sun and Moon; and the Sun approaching disruptive Uranus in stable, grounded Ta**us.
What does all this mean? It’s time to get real with people and stop putting on a front. It’s also likely time to change how we comfort and nourish ourselves, how we take care of ourselves. One of the best ways of taking care of ourselves may be showing up and telling the truth.
The fact that Pluto stations retrograde in late Capricorn the day after this month’s full moon suggest we are not yet done with the past, and that there will continue to be lessons, especially from last year’s pile up of outer planets in Capricorn, that we face and revisit until early October, when Pluto stations direct once again. Could this be the final surge of the pandemic? We can only hope so. What I can suggest is Pluto’s that style of tearing down, destroying and rebuilding will work through us over the next several months, calling on us to bring forth what is within us and transform it once and for all. Will you take up the charge? **us
Mars enters Cancer on April 23, where it stays until June 11. Although a lot of people think Mars in Cancer is weakening, a time for passive-aggressiveness or over-protective moods, I think it’s a time when it is benefits us to act based on what our emotions and instincts are telling us. What are your instincts telling you to do these days? Leave a comment!
The astro energy this weekend is all about manifesting what you want. Now is the time to communicate new ideas, effectively get your point across in ways you haven’t before, finally put thoughts into action, and integrate who you are with your higher self.
It’s possible to be a different person after the pandemic. If there are parts of your life you want to change, or if there are parts of yourself you don’t think serve your highest purpose, now is the weekend to start making changes. Start by doing the kinds of things that embody the traits you want to have. If you do enough of those things over a long enough period of time— a couple of months say, you really incorporate that trait into your personality and make a real change.
Undersky is coaching for spiritual seekers. Work with us to manifest the changes you are looking for!
Ready to manifest? Lots of spiritual teachers talk about manifestation. But here’s the thing: it’s real. It works.
In astrology, Jupiter taps into the universal power of expansion and manifestation. This weekend [April 15-17] is perfect manifestation time, with the Sun sextile Jupiter, Jupiter trine Mars, and Mercury sextile Jupiter this week. This is especially true if you want to communicate new ideas or effectively get your point across (Mercury), finally put thoughts into action (Mars), or integrate with your higher self (Sun).
A recent story in the New York Times got me talking with one of my best friends about how to make changes in our life. The article suggested it’s possible to be a different person after the pandemic, that even adults can change long-standing parts of their personality by simply doing the kinds of things that embody that trait. If you do enough of those things over a long enough period of time— a couple of months say, you really incorporate that trait into your personality and make a real change. That’s manifestation!
We can also use the powers of confirmation bias in psychology to harness manifestation to our own ends. Confirmation bias is the tendency of the human brain to interpret evidence to fit its own pre-existing theories, to look for evidence that confirms those theories and pay less attention to evidence that refutes it. If you wanted to manifest more love around you, you could start by meditating on how you are already surrounded by love and repeat that to yourself several times a day. If you spend enough time telling yourself that you are surrounded by love, your brain will start looking for evidence to support that belief and you will be overwhelmed by the love you locate around you. That’s manifestation too!
If you like these ideas and have something you want to work more to manifest in your life, set up a coaching session with Undersky. We’ll start with the placement of Jupiter in your chart, track what will come up for you this year, and develop a plan for you to manifest the changes you are looking for!
Over the next week, Venus, Mercury, and the Sun will all move in to Ta**us, the second sign of the zodiac. With Ta**us energy, we develop the resources and self-esteem to survive, or keep surviving. You learn how to stabilize yourself, so that even when the ground may rock or roll beneath your feet, you handle that turmoil with steadiness. Ta**us also helps us internalize what we have learned about ourselves, and is one of the first ways we cultivate an inner sense of balance. Use the next week— and the whole next month of Ta**us season— to bring this kind of inner calm, balance, and serenity to the forefront. **us

The new moon is a time to plant the seeds that will manifest at the full moon in two weeks’ time. This month’s new moon in late Aries, with pleasing angles to Mars and Jupiter, gives off major energy around manifestation and the positive powers of separating from the pack. Ready to strike out on your own, maybe do something unexpected? By the time of the full moon in Scorpio on April 20, you can bring something to the surface from deep within yourself, or transform something from your past, if you set the right intention now. ♈

Undersky takes our name from the imum coeli, Latin for ‘bottom of the sky,’ a subterraneous point in everyone’s birth chart opposite from midheaven, where the sun attains its highest place on the day of one’s birth. In astrological tradition, this point refers to the deepest part of ourselves, the parts we are least conscious of. The Undersky contains our shadows, most distant from that which is visible, and the inheritances we have received from the beginnings of this life and perhaps even our past lives. Dive deep into your reason for being here with one of our coaching series. #2021
