So massage must really help your survival then huhπ
(It does)
Big fans of targeted massage πͺ
Sometimes it seems like we could touch everywhere in a 60 min massage and feel absolutely no change the next day...
Or do focused massage on the neck, shoulders, and back, and be pain free for the next two weeks.
I mean it's up to you, all of our massages are 100% customized, but most of our clients are really excited and grateful to have found someone who can do really good detailed work on their pain points.
Some love for my spoonies todayπ
As a massage therapist (lymphatic drainage especially) I sometimes get to work with people who have degenerative illnesses.
They've taught me a lot about ableism, health, and what makes a good life, and I'm really grateful.
If massage can make the day to day experience of their body more comfortable, that's a win.
Green Lake is open!!
Our sweet second location by the park has reserved parking for you.
I'm seeing clients here today for lymphatic and myofascial massage. π
Sometimes we'll try anything to feel better...π
But would you try getting a massage? Because I hear that helps a LOT
We don't do light pressure massage and say it's better for you.
We use the *right amount* of pressure, based on the technique, tissue, and desired outcome.
It's just that that pressure is often lighter than you'd expect.
The gentlest cue can create profound change.
So...
Why do we feel like we have to beat ourselves up to get anything done?
And what does that say about how we treat ourselves?
Please welcome Cassandra to the Sage Bodywork team!

Big announcement 1/3: we're offering a deal on lymphatic massage so help us give Stefania a warm welcome!
There's about 5 spots left for a massage with Stefania this month: https://sagebodyworkseattle.as.me/stefania

You can really tell she's passionate about helping people feel better. I'm excited for you to come meet her!

If you don't make time to take care of your body, your body will still get that time...
But it will feel like illness and recovery, not wellness and prevention.
Which do you choose?
We do the best we can in the moment. I encourage you not to feel guilty about taking a rest day or "treating" yourself to a massage - it does you more good than you know!
Let's talk about lymph, fat, and lipedema!
I called this presentation "Fat or Swollen" because let's be honest, sometimes it's hard to tell! π
π
We'll learn how to check for swelling and if you are swollen, how to help it move with massage, compression clothes, and specialty tools.
Real practical info that NEEDS to get out there!
Also Fat Con will have a fashion show, vendors, other panels, friend making meet ups, it seems like a real party and this is only the first year. π€© for more! And thanks to for telling me about it!
Our clients will tell you that low-force massage is a total game-changer: you leave feeling incredibly relaxed without any of the usual soreness or bruises. It's like a reset for your body β¨

Do you ever get a review that makes you feel so seen and warm and fuzzy? π Grateful to have the best clients ever here.
"Sage Bodywork has opened my eyes to massage that is soft, yet effective. Jesse has magic hands that literally make my body feel like itβs melting.
Iβve had too many experiences with massage in the past where my entire body has tensed due to the pressure (defeating the purpose of relaxation!). I appreciate this small business so much, thank you for easing tension and being such a welcoming place for everyone!" -Sarah H.
New to Sage Bodywork? Welcome, we're glad you found us!
We send a welcome email and reminder texts to all new clients that will tell you everything you need to know to have a smooth and relaxing visit.

We don't make you print anything! :)
If you have any questions, you can always reach us by texting (425) 333-1980.
See you soon!
Oh no, is it controversial opinion time? π
OK, there's all sorts of massage therapists out there, and all sorts of people getting massage. You do what works for you.
Here at Sage Bodywork...
We won't bruise you and tell you that it's therapeutic.
We don't believe that harder pressure = more effective at all.
We practice "gentle yet effective" massage techniques. That means:
1) We do real work, we get into your trouble spots.
2) We do it as intentionally and noninvasively as possibly, and if that means slowing down or using less force, then that's what we'll do.
I can't promise that your massage won't ever be tender or intense. We work with a lot of extreme cases, people who are incredibly tight after years of desk work, or painfully swollen after a recent surgery. Sometimes it's spicy.
But we can promise to respect your body and its boundaries at every turn.
*Fat people welcome!* Our tables are rated for up to 700lbs and we have the pillows and training to help you get comfy on the table.
At Sage Bodywork, we believe that weight does not equal health. We're not here to make assumptions or judgments.
We're here to help you feel welcome, comfortable, and relaxed with a wonderful, customized massage that honors your body.
Show yourself some love, book a massage!
Everyone deserves to feel at home in their body.
Safe, comfortable, and calm.
We can help you get there with respectful, gender affirming, and size inclusive care, and "Smarter Not Harder" massage that uses soothing pressure to erase tension and pain.
We love helping people feel better in their own bodies every day.
It's a privilege to facilitate this transformation.
Book it and feel better. Sometimes it's just that easy. β
We specialize in gentle but powerful massage styles designed to help you relax and feel better.
We're open Mon-Fri (and don't worry, we have evening appointments available after 5!).
Visit our website to see our current availability and choose the time that works best for you.
See you soon!
If old aches and pains have been bothering you this week, don't be disheartened...
The majority of people with chronic pain surveyed agreed that colder weather makes their pain worse.
Sudden change is especially hard on our joints.
I've definitely been feeling this, we're entering that time of year where our bodies need a little extra care.
Stay cozy friends π
Touch deprivation affects all of us in American society. We all crave and deserve the connection that touch brings, not just as a sensory experience but as a basic human need.
"A Natural History of the Senses" says that touch's impact exceeds that of both verbal and emotional connections by a significant margin.
Our understanding of touch continues to evolve, revealing its pivotal role in nearly every aspect of our lives.
From the moment we come into existence, through the stages of development, and into our adult years, touch shapes our cognitive, emotional, and behavioral state.
It's not surprising that touch has the potential to affect us deeply and profoundly.
"I discovered Sage Bodywork after my surgeon recommended a series of post-operative lymphatic massages.
I have had several one hour massages with Collin, and was highly impressed with his knowledge and skill of lymphatic massage.
He was calm and gentle with his technique and made me feel comfortable and at ease the entire time.
I highly recommend Collin for your lymphatic massage needs."

Jesse's started a youtube channel for massage therapists!
The first video is all about foot massage - with a twist...
A few years ago I realized my favorite foot massage that I'd received always incorporated *movement*...
..so my feet didn't feel beat up after, instead they felt mobile and springy.
This has become my favorite way to work with the feet, and the best part is you can layer it onto whatever techniques you're already doing.
Now I'll share it with you and we'll do a bit of anatomy & kinesiology review while we're at it!

Thank you, thank you. π

What does Lymphatic Drainage feel like?
People are often surprised by how light the pressure is - and then surprised again by how different they feel after.
Your massage therapist will use light pressure and rhythmic movements to stimulate your lymphatic system. It's the about same amount of pressure you would use to massage the skin of your eyeball - very light, very controlled. Even when receiving lymphatic drainage after an injury or surgery, the area might be tender, but the massage should never hurt.
The massage usually starts at the neck and shoulders, and includes the armpits and abdomen (gotta get those lymph nodes!), as well as any particular areas of concern (that are swollen/inflamed/in pain).
During your massage you might notice of a feeling of draining, tingling, or lightness as your lymphatic system picks up the pace and starts clearing out swelling and toxins. After clients report feeling healthy, calm, and gently energized.
Why get a hard massage when you could get a smart massage instead? π₯°π₯°
