We're giving thanks this year and always, but especially today on . Since our founding in 1969, our mission has always been to advocate for and serve the LGBTQ+ community. The pandemic has increased the number of stressors for all of us, and there is increased need for mental health and substance use disorder services. These experiences have made LGBTQ+ individuals more vulnerable. Despite such challenging times, we are grateful to the community partners, donors, funders, and stakeholders for their support. Many clients coming through our doors do not have insurance coverage nor the ability to pay for the services they need. No one is turned away because of their inability to pay for our services.โ ๐ณ๏ธโ๐โ

A message from our CEO ๐ณ๏ธโ๐ As LGBTQ+ History Month comes to an end, we at Seattle Counseling Service know that each and every day will be a part of our history. October will be a month to recognize important moments in the history of LGBTQ+ individuals. Since 1969, SCSโs mission has always been to advocate for and serve the LGBTQ+ community. What sets SCSโs work apart from other mental health agencies is the barriers that our LGBTQ+ community faces every day. Sadly, the pandemic has increased the number of stressors for all of us, and there is increased need for mental health and substance use disorder services. Despite such challenging time, I want to express my gratitude to the community partners, donors, funders, and stakeholders for the support. Because of supporters like you, we have been able to support clients that come to SCS for services, and throughout the pandemic, we have been responsive and maintain services for our community. We need your help to sustain our work and continue providing support. Please consider making a monthly recurring donation of any amount. Your contributions help SCS forge ahead in our mission to advance the social well-being and behavioral health of our LGBTQ+ communities. ๐๐ Donate here: https://seattlecounseling.org/donate/

Give the Duwamish Tribe long overdue federal recognition Recognition brings tribal sovereignty, self-determination and dignity. A recognized tribe is one whose identity, culture and continued survival is acknowledged by the United States. Such dignity shouldnโt be up for discussion.
