Swordsquatch 2024 Tournament Livestream We're experimenting with a live stream this year! We'll still have per-match videos on the channel after the event, but in 2024 you won't need to wait.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this move possible! If you haven't visited the new space yet, turn right when you enter the building (via 6th Ave S), instead of left. And when in doubt, follow the sounds of swordfighting!

Call for artists!

is a non-profit Historical Martial Arts event hosted every year in beautiful Seattle, Washington by a dedicated team of volunteers. Our event consists of workshops, lectures, tournaments, and shenanigans over a three-day weekend in September. We pride ourselves on inclusivity and safety first.

Every year, Swordsquatch hires an independent artist for our t-shirt design. Past artists have included talented illustrators and graphic artists like Patrick Jensen, Devon Cady-Lee, Genevieve St. Charles Monet, and Kels Lund.

This is a paid opportunity. We are looking for artists with a style that loans itself well to t-shirt design and screen print. After hiring, applicants will be asked for three sketches of potential designs. The illustration will go through a revision process with art directors until a final design is reached, with a deadline of July. No AI-generated imagery will be accepted.

We welcome applicants of all backgrounds.

So, some folks have said, "Where exactly is the entrance to the new facility" (once it is re-opened)? While our official address is 624 S. Lander St, the easiest entrance is on 6th Ave S (see map below) at the Loading Dock (see picture below). During classes, a DOORBELL is on the loading dock door - ring, and you shall be admitted!

In person classes at Lonin will be closed for two weeks as we monitor the Covid surge in Seattle. Please check with your coaches regarding Zoom classes!

We've just completed the last of our sprung-floor in the new facility. 4" thick foam "pillars" support a double-layer of plywood, with 1" dense foam mat on top. Give a bit of spring to your step when you're sparring with swords, as well as a much more comfy surface when you fall or get thrown. A forgiving surface for practicing martial arts!
