Meet Atlas, our Student of the Month for August!
Congratulations Atlas, our Student of the Month for August 2024! Teacher Elizabeth says âAtlas is such a fun and enthusiastic student with a great sense of humor. Throughout the time Iâve been Atlasâ teacher, he has grown exponentially as a piano player. He is always very prepared for his lessons and is so excited to show me what heâs been practicing that week. With each song, he does an amazing job using dynamics and emotion to convey the feeling behind each piece. Atlas also composed his own âHelloâ and âGoodbyeâ songs for piano lessons that he will sometimes play if we have time. Iâm so happy that I get to work with Atlas every week and am excited to see how he progresses in piano!â (Visit our website to watch Atlasâ interview and performance)
Congratulations Jenn, our Student of the Month for July 2024! Teacher Jesse says âJennâs ukulele lessons are always a bright spot in my week. Jenn was still recovering from a stroke when she started guitar 2 years ago, and certain chords were difficult for her. Instead of giving up, she moved to ukulele and has continued to learn and play music ever since. Sheâs one of the bravest, most resilient, and goofiest people I know. I learn just as much from her as she does from me, and I canât wait to see where she goes next on her musical journey. Itâs my pleasure and honor to introduce Jenn as Julyâs Student of the Month!â (Visit our website to watch Jennâs interview and performance)

Congratulations Myla, our Student of the Month for June 2024! Teacher Liz says âMyla is a very hard worker and a natural soulful singer. When she comes in it is clear she has been working on her own time. She brings her own style to every song she sings, and also is very open to feedback. She incorporates new information and new vocal approaches while still maintaining her own distinct Myla flair. She never complains, always shows up ready to work, and isnât afraid to try multiple genres. She is a well rounded and disciplined vocal student who is going places.â (Visit our website to watch Mylaâs interview and performance)

New feature with flute student Evan!
Congratulations Evan, our Student of the Month for May 2024! Teacher Kristine says âEvan is finding a lot of joy in flute lessons. He is a thoughtful and analytical student who understands the work it takes to develop a strong foundation. This past year he earned a spot in the Cascade Youth Symphony flute section, and played a beautiful solo in the Seattle Flute Society Horsfall Competition. These successes motivate him to continue practicing to see what else he can accomplish.â (Visit our website to watch Evanâs interview and performance)
Thank you students and families for showing our team so much love during Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week!
Congratulations Evan, our Student of the Month for April 2024! Teacher Carrie says âTeaching Evan has been an absolute joy! His kindness, curiosity, and dedication uplift our group classes every Wednesday. Whether itâs a new song, a tricky solo, or a jazz standard, Evan pushes himself (and the ukulele!) to enter new territory each week. Thanks for being an integral part of the Meter community, Evan!â (Visit our website to watch Evanâs interview and performance)
Thank you to our student Evan for giving us a glimpse into ukulele lessons at Meter!
Congratulations Wilda, our Student of the Month for March 2024! Teacher Michelle says âWilda is a great student and a lovely person! She always comes to lessons with a positive attitude and prepared to learn new things about cello. It makes for great lessons, and she is advancing quickly. She has a wonderful intuition for how a piece of music should sound, and she works to ensure it sounds just the way she wants. I am very proud of her, and I canât wait to see how much fun she has as she advances!â (Visit our website to watch Wildaâs interview and performance)

Congratulations Willow, our Student of the Month for February 2024! Teacher Wyatt says âWillow is a great pianist and musician. Every lesson, I am impressed by her dedication to music expressed through her hard work and practice. The example she sets is that if you practice every day, you can become an excellent musician. Recently she has started to study some of the great composers of the past, breathing life into musicâs rich history. I think itâs so cool that Willow and other members of her family take lessons at Meter, so they can all share their love of music together. Hats off to her for her performance of Chopinâs Nocturne, Op. 9: No. 2 for this yearâs online student showcase. Congratulations Willow!â (Visit our website to watch Willowâs interview and performance)

Congratulations FrĂ©dĂ©ric, our Student of the Month for January 2024! Teacher Scott says âFrĂ©dĂ©ric is an incredibly enthusiastic drummer! He shows up to every lesson ready to learn and having worked on his practice for the week. As weâve progressed through lessons his enthusiasm grows and is very contagious. He plays the drums like theyâre meant to be played, and reminds me how much fun music can be. In addition to his music skills, we have very fun conversations about important subjects such as our favorite snacks, cartoons, games, and animals. The end of our lessons always feels too soon, as we have so much fun exploring the world of drums together.â (Visit our website to watch FrĂ©dĂ©ricâs interview and performance)
