Jen Kovarovic, director of Suzuki by the Sound, has a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from New York University and a Master of Education degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Washington. She received her Suzuki training from Louise Behrend at the School for Strings and from Ronda Cole at the Northern Virginia Suzuki Music School.

We are so excited to announce our WORLD PREMIERE concert at Meany Center for the Performing arts in collaboration with Early Music Seattle on December 16th!
This is not your grandma’s Messiah! Peppered with hip-hop, salsa, and gospel inspiration and sounds, these all new songs borrow source material from the Messiah we know and love, while drawing out the historic themes of activism and awakening to a better future.

Congratulations are certainly in order after an epic Fall Recital! One trick I learned from my own violin teacher is to give the younger audience members pens/pencils to cross off the pieces as they're played. It helps them keep track of how much longer they need to sit still...and in Felix's case, provides a place for doodles and important commentaries! I have to agree with him - Long, Long Ago was a high point for me too. :)

Hard to believe, but today marks the end of our Summer Term! I hope everyone has an easy transition back to school (haha) and I'll see you on September 12th.

We're heartbroken to have said goodbye to studio cat, Codetta, yesterday. She was a social and extraordinarily curious little creature. We had her as part of our family for fifteen years. We'll miss you, Codetta.

Our Story
Suzuki by the Sound is a private violin studio that emphasizes the social and emotional growth of students. While learning to play violin with a beautiful and expressive sound, children develop patience, persistence, focus and empathy. The curriculum includes individual lessons, weekly group classes and three annual recitals.
