Another view of the dojo siding repair.
And here are the results of our crew's efforts!
Much thanks to Ian, Kavan, Alex and Justin who rose to the occasion and repaired the damaged, 75 year old, dojo siding that was the cause of water in the dojo during torrential rain storms. They donated their time during this beautiful Labor Day Weekend to do something very difficult and nice for our dojo.
Preparations have begun! We can't wait to see everyone in a couple of months. Rooms are going to book fast so get yours now! https://floridaaikikai.com/newest/2024/08/29/florida-winter-camp/

Thank you Sonoran Aikikai for posting this rare footage of Chiba Sensei doing Chuden. Plus he gives basic and specific instruction on how to draw and return the blade to the scabbard. Great study guide for Tenzan Aikido iaido practitioners!
Lots of flying around in Bruce Bookman Shihan’s class. Note the back-roll options happening as well. Yokomenuchi kokyunage.
Last year’s USAF summer camp.
In depth Study of cross hand iriminage.
This little video is worth watching all the way to the end. Bookman Shihan suggests there is always an opportunity to practice. Using ukes of all sizes and experience levels, even taking ukemi himself, it’s obvious he practices what he preaches.
Bruce Bookman Sensei teaches a shomenuchi kokyunage variation based on the kesa cut.
