Our Story

Founded in 1995 to combat slashed federal funding for legal aid, the Equal Justice Coalition is a nonpartisan, statewide coalition of organizations and individuals that advocate for public funding for civil legal aid. We believe that everyone in our state deserves the chance to enforce their rights and live in a just society, and the justice system works more effectively and humanely when everyone, not just those who can afford an attorney, has fair access to it.
