At this week's art camp, our young artists are getting silly and studious "reading" art history books.
We love seeing their creativity and humor shine through in these playful moments. Art camp is not just about exploring art mediums and learning techniques but also about having fun and making lasting memories.
Exciting News! The Highland Community Mural is Complete!
We are thrilled to announce the completion of the Highland Community Mural, located at the Highland Community Garden on Herndon St. This vibrant mural, along with the Free Little Art Gallery, is a true testament to the spirit and creativity of our community!
Last year at the Highland Jazz & Blues Festival, we asked visitors what they loved about Highland. Mural artist Eric Francis took their words and photos to design this beautiful piece. In March, our community came together to start painting, bringing this vision to life.
This project was made possible by generous funding from the Grayson Foundation, the Noel Foundation, and a regrant from the City of Shreveport via the Shreveport Regional Arts Council (SRAC). We are incredibly grateful for their support.
If you recognize any faces in the mural, we'd love to hear from you! Stop by and see the mural in person, and don't forget to check out the Free Little Art Gallery while you're there.
Thank you to everyone who contributed and participated. Let's continue to celebrate the beauty and creativity of Highland!

Sam Austin, Program Manager for The Hub: urban ministries, with whom we partner to provide art and music outreach, shares his appreciation for NCAP.
'We at The Hub: urban ministry would love to share the blessed impact that the Noel Community Arts Program has had on our community through the time given in leading classes and engaging with some of the most vulnerable people, not just in our city, but our region as a whole. The varying skilled artists of NCAP have graciously used their talents to inspire and teach people experiencing Homelessness, Poverty, and Sexual Exploitation; reminding people who have been often overlooked and forgotten that life contains many beautiful things and that they are being invited to create from their hearts beautiful things for themselves, others, and most of all the Lord as well."
