🔆 Administrative Spotlight 🔆
We are delighted to announce that our very own Britney Smith is using her skills and talents to serve as the Development Coordinator for Ascension Classical School. As Development Coordinator, Britney assists with fundraising initiatives and development opportunities for the school. Britney works closely with the administrative staff and the recently established Ascension Classical School Foundation to generate the financial resources necessary to satisfy the School's mission of providing a Biblical, classical, and comprehensive curriculum. As an experienced brand developer and former business owner, Britney is beautifully equipped to serve our school as Development Coordinator. We are overjoyed to bear witness to all that Britney will accomplish in this exciting new role!
Our girls will be coached by Evalyn Dang during ACS Volleyball Camp. A fun fact about Evalyn is that she is the cousin of our very own Kirsten and Kylie Kay! Evalyn attended Parkway High School and played volleyball for the local TC Elite for four years before attending the University of Arkansas at Monticello and playing volleyball there for six years. Evalyn has experience in all positions, but mainly plays Outside Hitter and Defensive Specialist. Evalyn is thrilled to coach our girls and share her extensive experience with them!
It may be summer... but our teachers continue to learn! This past Thursday and Friday, we enjoyed a "Virtual Watch Party" to view the Society for Classical Learning summer conference. Though we were unable to all gather together due to summer travels, our teachers were excited to take advantage of the opportunity to view the conference remotely. We can't wait to share all that we've learned with our ACS families in the upcoming school year!
The father of a righteous son will rejoice greatly, and one who fathers a wise son will delight in him
Proverbs 23:24
We'd like to extend the happiest Father's Day wishes to all of our wonderful fathers, grandfathers, uncles, father figures, and friends! Thank you for all that you do to support our precious students
We'd like to extend a tremendous thank you to Tyler Lash, Ben Ponder, and Ellerbe Baptist Church for hosting ACS basketball camp for our Logic School students. These dedicated Admiral athletes not only honed their basketball skills but also enjoyed fellowship, laughter, and FUN! We can't wait for our upcoming basketball season to cheer them on and see their progress on the court firsthand!
Mrs. Smith's Nature Studies campers are HAPPY CAMPERS! Mrs. Smith and her campers were delightfully busy during their first full week of summer. The campers enjoyed pickling cucumbers, creating beautiful bean and seed mosaics, drying mint and lavender from our ACS garden to make their own bath salts, and tie-dying shirts with beets and tumeric... among many other exciting activities! Thank you, Mrs. Smith, for cultivating a love of God's creation in our students!
🔆 New Teacher Spotlight 🔆
We are overjoyed to welcome Ms. Christina Kilpatrick to our talented faculty to teach second grade for the 2024-2025 school year! Christina comes to us from Crestwood Elementary School in North Little Rock, Arkansas. A native of Shreveport, Christina graduated from C.E. Byrd High School and received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Central Arkansas in 2021. Christina enjoyed teaching kindergarten for two years before deciding to return to her Shreveport roots. Christina is getting married on June 22, so she will be lovingly known as Mrs. Cawthon by the time she meets her precious students!
A fun fact about Christina is that she first heard about ACS after her mom had a passing conversation with our very own Mrs. Anderson! Mrs. Anderson was walking the neighborhood after a storm in order to collect fallen debris for a Logic School art project. Christina's mom was intrigued and stopped her to inquire why she was collecting the sticks and limbs. This interaction provided Mrs. Anderson the perfect opportunity to share the mission and vision of Ascension. We are so thankful for our devoted teachers who share their love for our school with others, and we are delighted to add Christina to that list!
“The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched, they must be felt with the heart.”

Our ACS Fleet system is designed to organize and enrich student life while allowing our older students to assume leadership amongst their peers. Additionally, the Fleet system at ACS is designed to build smaller communities within the larger school community so that all may belong to something meaningful; all may grow in faith, friendship, and charity; and all may strive to be servant leaders within our overall student body.
