BrookwoodKiDs

Where kids feel known, loved, learn the Gospel, and HAVE FUN! The goal for BrookwoodKiDs is for kids to know Jesus and to be known personally.

We want BrookwoodKiDs to be a friendly and fun environment where we can partner with parents and build strong spiritual foundations as they raise their kids to love Jesus and live for Him.

Do you have kids who love knowing how the world works? This devotional is great to help kids understand that God and science don't have to be separated. With short stories and encouragement, we think you kids will love learning about God through creation!

Elementary kids talked about worship this week! Spend some time with your family and ask these questions:
1. Why do we sing to God and reach our hands toward Him?
2. Is there anything that keeps you from singing and dancing when we worship at church?

Have a family worship time! Put on some worship songs you and your kids love - worship doesn't just happen at church, worship happens everywhere!

Scott has been leading a wild and fun group of 4th grade boys for the last year! He jumped straight into volunteering with the 4/5 ministry and has been integral. From running games to leading the community group, he serves with such joy and devotion.

He always comes prepared, and most Sundays you'll find that he's brought in an extra game or activity to help reinforce what his boys are learning. When we were learning the books of the Bible, he and his wife made a game for the kids, and they loved it! We love Scott and how he loves and leads his kids.

As we celebrate the freedoms we have in America, we are even more grateful for all the freedom given to us by Jesus.

From our team to your family - have a happy and safe 4th of July!

BrookwoodK!DS spent the month of June learning what it means to be uniquely designed.

We learned that God made us: on purpose, with value, in His image, and for relationship!

Ask your kids
1. Why is it special that God made us uniquely?
2. When we look at people and realize God loves them as much as He loves us, how does it change the way we treat them?

Talk to your kids about how these truths have impacted you. Share your story with them! The best way we can disciple our kids is by living our lives the way God asks us and inviting them into it with us. We believe in YOU! You are exactly the parent your kid(s) needs. Being a parent isn't easy, but when you let God lead you, you can trust He will help you every step of the way.

Emily Kate is one of our amazing student volunteers. She has been leading the same group of kids since she was in 5th grade, and they were in preschool! Emily Kate always responds to her group with kindness and patience. She leads with enthusiasm and brings joy everywhere she goes.

She loves playing sports and spending time with her friends.

The kids in her group love her and the parents do too!

Let Emily Kate know how much she is loved!

We started a new series in Preschool and Elementary this week. All month long we'll learn about how we are uniquely designed and "God made me on purpose!

Take sometime today to read Psalm 139 as a family (help your elementary school kids look it up in the Bible) and ask these questions:

What do you like about how God created you?

How does it change how we treat people when we know that everyone is uniquely designed by God?

Kyla has been serving in BrookwoodKiDs for almost 20 years! She leads one of our K4 rooms, and the key to success for her kids is consistency. She practices repetition with the kids in her room and makes learning their memory verse fun! Every week during pick up, each kid says the memory verse to their parents before leaving. The families and kids adore her. Kyla is dedicated to making sure the kids in her room know how much Jesus loves them.

Leave a comment to let Kyla know how much she is appreciated!

Take 1 day this week to ask these 2 questions and spend 3 minutes talking about them: What would be fun and what would be difficult about traveling to another country? What are ways you could tell others about Jesus in that country?

Take 1 day this week to ask these 2 questions and spend 3 minutes talking about them:
Where is somewhere you would like to go to tell people about Jesus?
What can you do to learn more about that place and pray for the people who live there?

This week in Amp It Up, we taught kids that we can tell the world about Jesus! Our Bible story from Matthew 28 taught the Great Commission—the encouraging words Jesus spoke to His disciples to go and tell the world about Him. When we love and follow Jesus, we can go and tell the world! If your family could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go? As a family, learn more about that place. Maybe someday you can go and share Jesus there!

05/26/2024

This week we are learning that we can tell the whole world about Jesus. Before Jesus went back to heaven, He gave His friends a special job to do—to tell people everywhere about Him. That special job is for us too. We can tell everyone about the big news of Jesus, no matter where they live. This week, as a family, look at a map or a globe and talk about how you can be a part of praying for and telling people all over the world about the big news of Jesus.

05/24/2024

Take time to come up with your best knock-knock jokes. As a family, tell your jokes and try to make each other laugh. Talk about how having fun helps us grow in our relationships with others. As we grow in relationships, we find more opportunities to tell others about Jesus.

Work together as a family to bake and decorate cookies for your neighbors. Put the cookies in a treat bag with a note that says, “God loves you!” Go as a family to a neighbor’s home, ring their doorbell, and give them the sweet treat you made. Encourage your preschoolers to share that they’ve been learning about sharing God’s love at church. Explain that your family just wanted to do something for your neighbors to show that you were thinking of them and care about them. As you continue in relationship with your neighbors, look for opportunities to share the big news about Jesus.

Take 1 day this week to ask these 2 questions and spend 3 minutes talking about them: Who are some people that we see on a regular basis?
What is something about Jesus you can share with them?

05/19/2024

We amped it up this week as we taught the Simple Truth, “I Am Here to Share Jesus.” Our Bible story from Acts 3–4 taught us that we can tell our neighbors about Jesus. The disciples, Peter and John, came across a lame man asking for money, but they witnessed the power of Jesus heal him instead. Then they shared the good news of Jesus with everyone that was around them! Your words and actions are incredible ways your family can share Jesus with your neighbors. This week, think of one neighbor to pray for every day and find ways to show them Jesus.

05/19/2024

This week preschoolers learned that they can tell their neighbors about Jesus. In our Bible story, we learned that Peter and John met a neighbor who could not walk. The man asked Peter and John for money, but they gave him something even better. Peter and John healed his legs by God’s power, and the man believed in Jesus. The man’s neighbors—the people around him—heard the big news of Jesus and many believed. We can help our neighbors and the people around us know the big news we are learning about Jesus too!

“Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations.” (Matthew 28:19a)

When it comes to sharing Jesus, we can let fear or insecurity get in our way. We may think, ‘What if they don’t listen?’ ‘What if they ask a question and I don’t know the answer?’ But the truth is we are made to share Jesus. It is rooted in our identities. He gives you the strength, words, and opportunities to tell the good news to others. So step into your identity and step out in faith as you share Jesus.

“Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations.” Matthew 28:19a

This month’s Theme verse is part of the Great Commission, the instructions Jesus gave His followers before returning to heaven. Jesus told His friends to go and tell everyone about Him. Telling others this really big news about Jesus is an exciting job! You may think that it is a job for someone else, but it is a job just for you. In fact, it is something you were made to do. God wants you to tell people about Jesus. Talk about ways your family can share the big news of Jesus with others.
