Today, we're grateful for the natural beauty that surrounds us and inspired to continue nurturing our land for generations to come. Let's celebrate and protect this incredible planet together! 🌱
I enjoy having a dairy farm as a neighbor. They are very effective at utilizing large swaths of farm land.
They also remind me of the rhythm of nature. Today they are harvesting winter cover crop to feed the livestock prior to preparing for a summer crop.
But here's what's truly cool. Watch the end of the video to see how nature adapts to man. These two red tail hawks are following the mower and hunting for field mice that were in impenetrable cover only moments before.
Dinner came easy tonight.

Spring bloom in the blueberry field.
I always admire how the blooms go from dark pink to white as they open up.
The top ones still have some pink stripes, but will turn white soon.

The bees came in on a perfect weekend. 15% of the field is at 40% bloom. Bees will be here for the next several weeks as the different varieties come into bloom.
Only have brought bees in earlier in the season twice in our 18 years of operating this 75+ year-old blueberry farm. It's been a mild winter.
Don't know what that means for our typical July 10th opening but we'll keep you posted.

Our Story
Welcome to Mountainview Blueberry Farm
Mountainview Blueberry Farm is a large U-Pick Blueberry Farm located in the beautiful farming community of Snohomish in the Snohomish River Valley. The farm is nestled down low against a hillside, overlooking surrounding farms framed by the Cascade Mountain Range. On a clear day you can even see Mount Baker to the north.
The farm boasts nine acres of luscious blueberries featuring several different varieties. Many of the varieties herald from days gone by and are not to be found anymore. All these different varieties provide you with several unique flavors and sizes.
Originally established by the Uran family in the 1940's, the blueberry farm provided for the founders until its sale in 1976 to the Phillips family. The Phillips established a new home on the farm in 1979 where they raised their family until selling to the Simpson family in 1996. The Simpsons also raised their family on the farm and took wonderful care of it until they sold it in 2007. In 2007 the farm was purchased by Keith and Janet Stocker, fourth generation farmers in the Snohomish River Valley. We, Keith and Janet along with our sons Ivan and Raleigh Stocker, were thrilled to be able to purchase the farm from our friends the Simpsons a few years ago.
