Let’s talk about a BIG topic! Weight loss. More specifically what does weight loss look like? Spoiler alert: it’s not a straight path.

Think of it more like a roller coaster with a side of merry-go-round! You’ll have ups, downs, twists, and turns. One day the scale will be your BFF, and the next, it’s giving you major side-eye.

Especially for women, weight can be a bit of a drama queen thanks to our hormones. So, if you see the numbers go up and down don’t freak out—it’s totally normal! Your weight going up does not automatically mean you gained FAT. You can drink more water that normal, have eaten more processed food, ate later at night— about to start your period!! So many factors that make the scale go up. In fact most women fluctuate by a few pounds DAILY! It’s normal. This is why going by measurements and how your clothes are fitting, is a much better indicator on if you are on the right track 💛 Don’t get hung up on that number!

Remember, this journey is all about the long game. Celebrate those little victories, laugh off the setbacks, and keep your eyes on the prize. Keep moving, keep grooving, and don’t let a few bumps in the road throw you off course!

THIS is a powerful message.

A friend of mine posted this and I think more moms need to see it.

As moms we tend to put everyone else first. We feel selfish if we do something for US. That mom guilt hits hard. (Every single mom should be shaking their head right now, we have all felt it).

But prioritizing your health and your well being is NOT selfish. You become happier. You become a more present mom & partner.

Your kids need you around for a VERY long time, and putting your health on the back burner is not an option.

I got a text this morning from a client who is fitting into shorts she hasn’t been able to wear in YEARS! Another client sent me a photo this morning of her progress and is killing it with flying colors and already seeing great results. That makes me happier than when my husband brings home Indian food and THAT is saying a lot!

When motivation isn’t there, rely on discipline. Consistency isn’t about always feeling inspired; it’s about showing up, even when you don’t want to. Set small, achievable goals, create a routine, and focus on the long-term benefits. Remember, every workout, every healthy meal, every positive choice brings you closer to your goals, regardless of how you feel in the moment. Consistency is the key that unlocks LASTING results.

✨Finding Balance✨

Thirteen years ago, I was deep in the whirlwind of obsession. Every morning, the scale dictated my mood, and I monitored every morsel of food. I was the one prepping for Thanksgiving dinners, not for the joy of cooking, but out of fear that a couple of extra pounds might creep in. It was a suffocating cycle, one that led me down a path of binge eating that was as terrifying as it was isolating.

A realization dawned on me: What example was I setting for my children? How could I preach self-love and acceptance while waging a silent war against my own body? It was time for a change, not just for myself, but for my kids.

I began to LISTEN to my body instead of drowning it out with calorie counts and weight goals. I started nurturing myself, treating my body with the kindness and respect it deserved— and in that I found something miraculous: balance.

Balance isn’t about deprivation or denial. It’s about understanding that we can still savor the foods we love, but in moderation. It’s about portion control, not punishment. Through my own journey, I’ve come to realize that the key to a healthy lifestyle isn’t found in restriction.

We like to make things more complex than what they are.

Be consistent. Stick with it for longer than 1 week or 2 weeks. We are so quick to throw in the towel because we don’t see results quick enough, and jump on to the next thing, and guess what?

Jumping around like that will have you feeling STUCK for a long time.

Fat Loss Tips for Women

I feel like this needs to be said, so let’s talk about it. Weight loss. Instead of thinking about the FASTEST way for weight loss or fat loss…let’s shift to “What is going to give us the best LONG TERM results?”

The golden rule for weight loss:
A calorie deficit

But what happens when you are someone that has been eating a low amount of calories for quite some time?

The good news? Our bodies are AMAZING at adapting. The bad news? Our bodies are AMAZING at adapting!

If you eat a low amount of calories, your body will adapt to that and think that is your maintenance level of where you should be. So then when you try to get in a deficit, you are stuck and have trouble losing weight. You have no where to go when you are already eating 1,200 calories.

Being in a situation where you are eating a low amount of calories for an extended amount of time can mess with your hormones, hurt your cycle, lower your immune system and slow down your metabolism.

So what do you do when you are in the situation where you are eating too low of calories?

You reverse diet.

You slowly (very slowly) increase your calories each week. If done correctly, there will be a very minimal increase in your weight, if any. Once you reach your TRUE maintenance level of calories (which is often much higher of a number than you could ever imagine), you hang out there for a bit continuing to eat well, fuel your body PROPERLY, and then you can start going into a small deficit, and you will have much better results, and your body will thank you!

Here’s the tea, ladies: you can’t out-train a bad diet. As much as we love a good workout, what we put into our bodies matters just as much (if not more). No amount of sweating it out at the gym can undo the effects of consistently poor food choices. It’s all about balance. You may burn 200-300 calories in your workout session… but then grab a burger and fries for lunch and that’s EASILY over 1,000 (and that’s with smaller portions!)

Here are some simple but effective tips for healthy eating that even busy moms can follow:

1. Variety is key! Include a colorful mix of fruits, veggies, whole grains, and lean proteins in your meals.

2. Mind your portions. Use smaller plates and bowls to keep serving sizes in check. It’s all about balance, not deprivation. 🍽️✨

3. Skip the processed stuff. Opt for whole, unprocessed foods whenever possible. You will be AMAZED in the difference you will see!

4. Stay hydrated. Water is your best friend, especially when you’re on the go. 💧💪l

Start NOW, so by the time summer rolls around you feel CONFIDENT In your bathing suit!

I need to brag on this lady! Mary Carson is not only a client but she’s my wonderful mother in law. When she came to me her goal was to shed a few pounds but also wanted better mobility so she can get down in the floor and play with Silas.

Eating healthy and working out has led her to feel so much better! She has more energy and can get down in the floor and play without being in any pain later!

I am so, so proud of her dedication and thankful she cares about her health. We need her around for a very long time!

I just want to take a moment to say how appreciative I am of every single one of you that has supported me!

Today I really sat back and had a moment of just being super grateful, and also wanting to pinch myself.

I am getting very busy with personal training, and I’ve had to do some group sessions to get everyone in, and everyone has been very supportive. People that have never met each other are coming together and having the best time.

Today as we were working out, I was taking mental notes of the laughter and taking breaks for singing and dancing— I have created everything I have ever wanted! A safe place for women to come together and have fun, but lift some heavy ass weight, and not have to be worried that other people are watching or making fun— or feel uncomfortable around the gym bros 😂

I sincerely thank you all so much and I am not taking a single day of this for granted. Like, I get to wake up and go hang out with a bunch of bad ass women all day and watch them grow stronger and more confident by the day. I am BLESSED!

Since so many people are getting their un**es in a wad over Taylor Swift being at the superbowl…

It inspired me to do a 20 minute Taylor Swift dance cardio/weight routine! I’m wanting to do it on zoom live on Super Bowl Sunday, in the afternoon.

I have to say it is pretty dang fun. I had a blast making it and if you are a Taylor fan, you will love it! It definitely got my heart rate up and burned a lot of calories!
