Meet Alison Drasner, her work celebrates the bright, shiny, glittery and joyfulness in everyday life. Her subject matter is mostly botanicals and still-lifes, which allows her to continue focusing on experimenting with materials, size and techniques.

SANTAPOCALYPSE
The holiday season is over and done, and all the Santas and elves and reindeer and pandas slowly deflate in front yards. It’s a Santapocalypse. Slouched on sidewalks, slumped against a fence, spread-eagle face down on the lawn, the colorful figures look comically pathetic. In the face of defeat, they wear cheery grins on their way to oblivion.

Gary Duehr has been chosen as the Best Emerging Artist in New England by the International Association of Art Critics, and he has received an Artist Grant in photography from the Massachusetts Cultural Council. His work has been featured in museums and galleries, including the Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston, MA; MOMA PS 1, New York, NY; Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Los Angeles, CA; andMuseo Nacional de Bellas Artes, Havana, Cuba, and exhibitions in Tokyo, Venice, Stockholm, London and Barcelona. Past awards include grants from the LEF Foundation and the Rockefeller Foundation.

Important advocacy update for ALL artist. Please share and send to your local officials

about one thing: wish i could change your mind Time’s just about up to write a letter to support affordable arts spaces in Somerville. Nothing will be alright—for Washington Street Art Center, for The Loft, Milk Row, for the creatives left in Somerville / Greater Boston—if more people don’t do a real simple thing.

Dreamscapes and soulscapes

As an artist I am drawn to the world between worlds. I seek to delve into the realm between
being awake and dreaming, this magical dreamlike state just before the rising of a new day.
It is my intention to to create an atmosphere of mystery and magic in my paintings, finding
new depths and truth beyond the known world, discovering a world of my own - dreamscapes
and landscapes of the soul.
