Last week, we were able to present our local Tuolumne Chapter of the Special Olympics Northern California with a check to cover the expenses of their Track and Field Regional on May 13th!
We can’t express our gratitude towards our amazing sponsors(Auto Tech & Tires, Stogies Gold Country Lounge and Todd Simonson Edward Jones), the participants who made the golf tournament so much fun and, of course, our awesome Tuolumne community!
Black Hats will be back with an event later in 2023, if you know of a deserving Tuolumne based non-profit, please spread the word and we wI’ll release the RFP details for our next event soon!

Happy Golf Tournament morning!
I think we’ll be lucky that the light showers will hold off until late this afternoon, but if it does start to rain, remember this is a rain or shine event.
The silent auction will be set up in the restaurant area, so if you want to take a break from golfing, grab a beverage and a cigar from Stogies Gold Country Lounge, mingle and bid on some great items!
We also will be hanging the closest to the hole contest on the putting green for a $20.00 buy-in! If you’re the closest, you win the pot!
See you later this morning, and thanks again for supporting our Local Special Olympics!
As we’re gettimg closer to Saturday, here’s one more shout out to our Eagle Sponsors!
We can’t thank you enough, Stogies Gold Country Lounge, Todd & Trent Simonson with Edward Jones, Auto Tech & Tires & MicroTronics!

Earlier this month we were able to distribute the funds raised from our Tri-Tip Drive Thru Dinner and Silent Auction! Thanks to our awesome community, we were able to give $5,000.00 to each of our 5 beneficiaries that will benefit the children of Tuolumne County.
Here’s how the beneficiaries will use the funds in 2022:
- Smile Keepers will be able to fund more dental referrals and support children who need extensive dental care.
- The Wings Fund will be able to continue their work assisting more families than ever before with offsetting costs incurred by traveling for medical treatments.
- Curtis Creek PTA will be able to fund their book vending machine so students have access to literary material at any time. The additional funds will be going to outdoor educational equipment and science programs.
- Youth Sports Foundation of Tuolumne County will use their grant to continue the building process of the new sports complex, adjacent to Standard Park.
- Our local 4-H program will have their annual summer camp funded for the next couple of years. The summer camp is planned and operated by our local 4-H students (with adult oversight).
Thank you again for all of your support this year! We’ll be back in March to plan our 2022 event - keep your eyes peeled for that and also for our revamped RFP process!
A simple ”Thank You” isn’t enough! Our first drive-thru dinner was a success, thanks in large part to our amazing sponsors, you, our amazing community and especially to the Tuolumne County Sheriff. Not only did Sheriff Bill Pooley help pass out dinners and treat bags, we also had patrol vehicles and the SWAT armored vehicle at the event!
We had a couple of leftover meals - and those were all donated to first responders on duty in our area.
Here’s some photos of the event (I’m sure more will be added later). We’ll share details of our check distribution and upcoming events shortly!
Thank you all again!
Don’t forget to get your dinners tonight! We’re here until 7!
We only have about 50 tickets left for this weekend’s drive-thru Tri-Tip dinner! Get your tickets now and help support 5 Tuolumne County’s children’s non-profit organizations!
HOME | Mysite It is with a heavy heart that due to the continuing issues facing the Country, State, and Community, due to the COVID-19 virus, we have been forced to cancel the 2021 Black and White Ball.
We have a bunch of new likes to our page - so I thought I would give a little background into the Black Hat Foundation.
The Black Hats started in 1991, shortly after the Wild West Film Festival. A small group of local residents got together to discuss ways in which they could help the community, the supporting of future Film Festival that were sponsored by the Visitors Bureau were among their priorities. The name of the organization was chosen because so many celebrities who came to participate in the Film Festival had spent much of their careers playing villains or wearing “black hats,” we wanted to show that “black hats” could be good guys too.
Since the early days, the Black Hats evolved into a 501(c)(3) organization that raises funds for other non-profits within Tuolumne County. It was always of the utmost importance that any money raised here stays here.
Due to COVID-19, the Black Hats are evolving once again. Instead of having the annual Black and White Ball the first weekend of May, we’ve had to think outside of the box to fundraise, that’s how the drive-thru dinner came about. The need to help our chosen non-profits are still there, now more than ever.
Thank you for your support! We couldn’t do this without our awesome community. ❤️
