Lighthouse Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine is excited to announce “Lighthouse Fitness!”
During the month of April, we’ll be opening our studio to two exclusive groups. We will be hosting a group of six competitive high school athletes aged 16-18 and a second group of six individuals 30 - 50 years old for an exclusive group fitness class led by our experienced certified personal trainers. These classes will introduce concepts in flexibility and stability while simultaneously helping you tone your body and elevate your strength and performance.

We have added another amazing Physical Therapist here at Lighthouse! We are very excited to have Dr. Schimmels at our office! Check out her bio below 👇
Dr. Schimmels grew up in Durango, CO and Wilmette, IL. She attended Santa Clara University for undergraduate and received a BS in Biology with an emphasis in Biomedical Sciences and a minor in Public Health Science in 2018. She then studied at Regis University in Denver, CO where she earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2021. She has been in Spokane since Fall of 2020 and has loved treating different populations in both inpatient rehab and orthopedic settings. When not in clinic she enjoys spending time with family, traveling, trying new foods, and exploring the outdoors in all seasons.

4 reasons why YOU should meditate today!
Read the beginner steps below to start meditating today:
1. Get comfortable and prepare to sit still for a few minutes. After you stop reading this, you’re going to simply focus on your own natural inhaling and exhaling of breath.
2. Focus on your breath. Where do you feel your breath most? In your belly? In your nose? Try to keep your attention on your inhale and exhale.
3. Follow your breath for two minutes. Take a deep inhale, expanding your belly, and then exhale slowly, elongating the out-breath as your belly contracts.

We are so thankful for our connection with the Spokane Fire & Police department through “Rebound.” Lighthouse has been blessed to be a first contact to treat injured first responders in Spokane and the valley!
Saturday we were able to “suit up” and go through several drills that our first responders go through on a daily basis. It was a real awakening to see how much stress and strain they endure everyday to keep us safe.
All of us at Lighthouse would like to say thank you to all first responders! We are grateful to have the privilege of serving you!

Russ, our beloved owner and head Physical Therapist has had over 30+ years experience in this field. Russ is extremely knowledgeable and everyone loves him! We have an amazing Physical Therapist, Lori, who is well experienced in pelvic floor dysfunction. She is such an asset to our team and has taught us all so much about pelvic floor. Not only do we provide physical therapy, but we also provide Massage Therapy. There are two therapists in our office; Tiffany and Samantha are both Licensed Massage Practitioners. Tiffany specializes in fascial counterstrain and has such a passion for helping her patients. Samantha specializes in Deep Tissue Orthopedic Massage and absolutely loves working with Prenatal & Postpartum Therapy patients. When you come in, you’ll be greeted by the most cheery-wonderful receptionist, Wendy. Wendy is the one who keeps us all on track.
