Had a blast at World Indoor Championships in Serbia. to be able to work on the worlds best athletes. Don’t take anything for granted. Hard work always pays off 💪🏽

Lower across Syndrome:
This can be a result of muscle strength imbalances in the lower segment. Muscles can be constantly shortened or lengthened in relation to each other.
Weak abdominal/trunk and gluteus Maximus muscles along with tight thoracolumbar extensors and tight hip flexors can contribute to this dysfunction. Hamstrings can frequently be tight and/or under active with LCS.
This can lead to joint dysfunction at the lumbar spine along with strain at the lower back, & even postural changes like shifts in the pelvis, spine, or hip joints.

Our pelvis can either tilt anteriorly or posteriorly. The anterior position can even decrease quality of breathing!

In these photos here we are showing the Thomas Test. The hip flexors will be tested, and a decreased ROM will be shown.
Lay on your back at the edge of your bed, pull one knee to chest. If you feel your opposite leg pull up with the other, you may be positive for the test!

The 2022 USA Track and Field Indoor National Championships was held at The Podium, our new state of the art Indoor facility. Track meet was held on February 26-27. Our Spokane Sports Commission was able to host this amazing event and bring the world’s best athletes to our city.
Dr. Lopez had the pleasure and privilege to be the lead local medical liaison and one of the treating Chiropractors for this event. Quinn, our Athletic Trainer, also had the privilege to assist with on-field care. It is awesome to see Summit Chiropractic and Sports Institute represent the Spokane sports community 🙏🏽

We have really exciting news!!! We are happy to announce that Dr. Lopez and Summit Chiropractic and Sports Institute is the official Chiropractic clinic for . We will be providing to athletes and keeping them performing at their peak. We are so grateful for this opportunity and look forward to our new partnership.

Paralympic dreams: Large contingent of Parasport Spokane athletes has eyes on podium ahead of Tokyo Games Susannah Scaroni may have limited memories of her life out of a wheelchair, but the 30-year-old hopes the memories she makes over the coming weeks are golden at the Tokyo Paralympics.
