You probably know by now that my mood is affected when the seasons change. I mentioned it started a few weeks ago *very early this year! I know I'm not alone in this. So, I have an idea.
What if we make August "micro moments of Awesome" month?
Today I saw a lady at the grocery store with a cart full of gallon jugs of water. She was alone. I walked over and asked if she would like some help. She was so grateful! She thanked me so many times as I helped her and gave me a huge hug when I took her cart back.
Now, I didn't do this for praise or appreciation- I genuinely thought she needed help. But you guys, it made her day! And that made me happy.
So, for the rest of this month and into next I'm going to look for these micro moments of awesomeness, acts of kindness if you will, to be a blessing wherever and however I can. And next year when August hits I'm going to CELEBRATE by doing the same thing.
By helping others, we can help ourselves. ❤️
I know my friend
will be with me. Who else is in?
When I joined an online fitness group I was struggling to stay consistent and needed support and accountability to stay committed to my goals.
I was looking for weight loss, but what I found was a community of uplifting people where I could show up as I was and not feel judged or like I was a failure. I was intimidated by "the gym" and personal trainers, but I needed some help knowing what workouts to do and how to eat.
I got all that and more. In addition to being more fit, mentally and physically, I am more confident and courageous, I’m living life by my terms and not what I think I’m supposed to do. The best part is the community and the friendships I have made.
Sometimes our business partners become our friends, and sometimes our friends become our business partners! I'm excited to share that Amanda Dugger-Ybarra is joining my business mentorship for women! Amanda is already a leader in her life, family, and community. She has big goals and consistently reaches them. Her goals are different than mine, I wanted to retire early from public health to pursue coaching and massage therapy, while she loves her career in public health and wants to expand her support of friends, family and community to focusing on mindset, nutrition and fitness.
In Amanda's words: "My reason (for joining the mentorship) is to share about mindset and mental health" If you know Amanda, you know she already does this! This is one more platform for her to be WHO she is and be supported in that. She's also taking on a 100 day walking challenge and a 30 day nutrition challenge next month.
I’m so excited to have Amanda on my team!
Are you looking for a change? We'd love to support you.
If you're curious about what my mentorship for women looks like or you've been inspired by Amanda and/or me in the past, send one of us a message or comment below with "tell me more about mentorship" and we'll reach out.
I'll be 51 in just 10 days. While I'm feeling every bit of my age I'm choosing to be grateful that I'm getting older (I'm not ready for the alternative yet).
As we edge closer to fall, I'm soaking up every bit of 🌞 I can get!
What are you grateful for today?
Last summer, I set a goal to drink *less alcohol. I put an 84-day tracker on my fridge and colored in the days I didn't have an adult beverage. I did pretty well.
This summer, I decided to have a . Have you heard the saying 💯is a breeze, 99% is a b*tch? It's true! Last summer, I was so focused on how many squares on my tracker were colored in. How many weeks/days I went without a drink. I celebrate that for sure! What I've learned about myself is that I'm always intrigued by leveling up. This summer, I'm not even thinking about a drink because I made 💯 commitment so the decision has been made. I don't need to use willpower for this because I know what I want and I decided on a way to get there.
How can you use your willpower wisely? Start by knowing what you want!
*Its hard to measure "less"!
My decision to not drink is related to mental health and weight loss goals. I tend to consume more alcohol in the summer in conjunction with social events and wanted to try this out.
If you're interested in leveling up in your life and curious about what that looks like for you, message me!
Don't put me on a pedestal people, I’m human just like you!
I struggle too. I don't always want to work out, meal prep, be positive…
I do it because I want to be happy, feel good in my body, and genuinely love WHO I am. When I actually do what I say I will do (workout, meal prep, meditate, focus on the positive things…) my trust in myself grows and I'm more confident.
I've lived the alternative life and I don’t want to go back there.
Whether you call all it motivation, willpower, growth mindset, determination…
I'm not any more special than you are. All of those things are developed over time. It's not like we're either born with it or we aren't.
You get to decide. Do you want your life to stay the same or do you want to make a change? There's no right or wrong answer. It's up to you to decide.
P.S. I’m attending a Willpower Workshop this weekend with my friend, mentor and coach Lori Mage. If you want to make a change in your life, join us! I always take something great away from these workshops and it helps me take action on my dreams and goals.

Best part of the day. ❤️
More to come about my weekend but can we take a moment and celebrate my fan girl smile with Shaun T?
From T25 to Cize to Transform 20 to Let's Get Up to Dig Deeper, this man has helped my physical body, my mindset, and my spirit!!
Btw babe, he said to tell you hi!

D-Wayne Sanders he said to tell you hi!
Well here I go again. 2nd time to Texas in the past few weeks, 3rd time in my life. 😆
8.5 years ago I said yes to something I wasn't at all sure I was qualified for. I also knew I needed to say yes to keep myself accountable.
Little did I know it would be the thing that would open my eyes to a different life.
Being part of a community that provided support and encouragement, asked me to show up for myself first, and prioritize my own personal development allowed me to see that I wanted something different, something better for my life. I started to dream again!
Now, I'm living that dream. Sure, there are still things I want to accomplish, AND I'm loving every step along the way.
So here I go, off to meet up with my team that, if we're lucky, I get to see once a year! It's going to be a fast paced weekend with lots of learning, workouts and celebration!
P.S. I forgot my glasses at home, ha! So new reading glasses purchased at the airport. More than I would have liked to spend and a little funky design I may not have picked otherwise, but I kind of like them! What do you think?
Sometimes I can't believe this is my life now!
Barely 2 years ago I was celebrating my "retirement" from 20 years in public health and ready to see if I could make my dream work of being a fully self-employed massage therapist and life coach.
A year ago I stopped taking new massage clients because my books are full.
👉In January of this year I envisioned adding workshops to my services.
I wrote "Heroic Workshop Instructor" on my 3-5 year vision/future goals.
👉Heroic didn't have workshop instructors yet. 😳
👉In February they announced Heroic Workshop Instructor Training.
👉In March I applied.
👉In May I was trained.
👉In June I'm facilitating workshops!
!
That's just one of the things I'm up to. This weekend I'm meeting up with a few members of my BODi team for our annual Summit. I've helped several people get started or recommit to their fitness and nutrition journey this year, and in doing so I earned a photo opp with many of our Super Trainers - including Shaun T, who's new program Dig Deeper has helped Dawnya and I get some of the best results of our lives over the past few months.
It's been said that the best way to change your life is to get involved in a community that is living with higher standards. Well, these are two of mine - and there's room for more!
1. I'm hosting my first solo public Activate Your Heroic Potential Workshop later this month - June 29 from 1-4 p.m. Click the link below for more info and to register if you are available. Not available? Message me and let's chat!
2. Want to feel your best while you totally enjoy your summer? Leave the comment "Tell me about Feel Good Summer" below.
3. Curious about BODi and how you could earn things like a photo opp with the trainer that helped change your life? Join our Sneak Peek next week. Click on the link in the comments to request to join.
4. Not interested in any of this, but love following me for positivity and encouragement? Leave me a high five in the comments! 🙌

Spartan Finisher!
Spartan finisher!
Of course I brought my Wonder Woman tank!💪
I haven't always been confident.
It used to be the only time I would work out was when I traveled. I would use the hotel fitness center and use an elliptical or treadmill. I didn't know how to use weights or machines, and if the thing I planned on using was being used I would turn around and walk out.
We've been lifting for years now and I wasn't about to pack weights to bring on this trip. 🤣
But, I'm not taking my chances anymore. So, I packed my control track and a resistance band because I'm not about to skip a week! The mental health benefits alone are worth it.
The things I have learned about myself in my fitness journey have helped me build confidence in my life. I no longer wonder if there will be space for me, I come prepared and ready.
How about you? What has your fitness journey given you? Or, where's an area in life you'd like to grow?
Hanging out in Austin this week for Heroic Workshop Instructor Training (more to come about that).
Did a workout in the kitchen, boiled some eggs and having fruit for breakfast! I'm right by a Whole Foods and the airbnb has a french press so I'm all set up!
Your results are 0% luck and 100% work. Commit to the process and learn to love the journey!
I heard Oprah once say "do something you love and you'll never work a day in your life."
Well, its true AND it relates to workouts too. Even though the word 'work' is in there, if you find something you enjoy (make it fun!) It won't feel like work and your more likely to stick with it!
Want to give it a try? Join us next week for Make Fitness FUN.
We'll be sharing some of our most valuable lessons on why focusing on sustainable, consistent, FUNctional fitness is better than pushing yourself through a quick fix workout plan you hate.
From this group, you can expect…
👟 A daily morning post highlighting a sustainable fitness habit + workout you can try that day,
👟 A daily afternoon accountability post where you can check-in and share your FUNctional Tracker,
👟 A free fitness log for you to create a sustainable wellness plan, track it for 30 days, and reflect on the changes that are working.
👟 A 30 Day movement calendar based in fun movement you actually look forward to for after this challenge and beyond!
My current wellness routine is the most consistent I’ve ever been because I actually look forward to it. I definitely did NOT start that way. If I can do it, you can too!
Comment “FITFUN” to join this free fitness challenge starting Monday.

Happy people choose Gratitude.
We've all had crappy times in our life, maybe you're in one now. Start writing down 5 things you're grateful for just once a week. It will boost your happiness by 25%
P.S. Take a listen to this amazing song. I can't help but smile, and be grateful, when I hear it!

Sunday evenings used to be stressful for me, rushing to get all the things in before the work week started.
Today, I spent my Sunday afternoon prepping food for the week and getting other things ready to start Monday with ease. We ate dinner outside on the deck and enjoyed the warmth and sunshine. Now I'm sitting, relaxing, and enjoying quality time with my family. ❤️
There's still lots of stuff to do, but there always will be! So I've learned to shift my thinking and see Sunday as an opportunity to prepare for the week ahead, not stress about it.
It also helps that I really love what I do! Reminder that I'm hosting a sneak peek this week about the benefits of partnering with BODi's health and fitness programs. If you're interested in learning more leave a comment below. 👇
The fastest way to improve your life is to join a community living with higher standards.

We only have so many with our kids before they leave the nest!
We stayed home this year and we got some projects finished, spent time with family and friends, and had so much family time!
We visited EWU to help Keller get a feel for campus before starting Running Start in the fall,
got him some fresh fits for his new job at Men's Wearhouse,
he learned how to change tires on his car,
and drywall and paint his game room!
When you're an entrepreneur, taking time off means you don't get paid. This has been a shift for me after so many years of vacation and sick time!
But I have some money come in, even though I took the week off! Thanks to my partership with BODi, I get a weekly deposit every Thursday. Last week it was enough to buy our groceries! Not too bad for having a whole week with my family. ❤️
If you're interested in learning how I made this "side hustle" work while working a full time job AND running a massage practice, join us for a sneak peek next week! Link in the comments.
8 years ago I said yes to something that totally changed the direction of my life!
No, it wasn't Dawnya LOL
When I learned that I could get paid to help other people on their health and fitness journey I thought - why would anyone listen to me? I’m overweight, struggling with my nutrition, and I always give up on my workouts before I see any results.
But, I was still intrigued! So I kept watching, following and listening to the people who were doing exactly what I wanted to do. One day I thought, if I invite other people to join me in my fitness journey, maybe I'll actually commit to it and stop messing around. So that's exactly what I did. And it worked! Over the past 8 years I've committed to showing up for my team, which has helped me finish more fitness programs than I can even remember, find and follow a nutrition plan that works for me (finally!), and get my mind wrapped around living my best life!
The best part is, I've helped so many people do the same. I seriously cried the first time someone told me "you gave me my life back." Really, they did the work, but I believed in them before they believed in themselves. It's actually pretty easy to do.
I'm now mentoring women to do what I’m doing! If you're like me and the idea of earning an extra bit of income doing something you love, you love health and fitness, and you love helping other people - check out my sneak peek next week!

We took a little field trip to Cheney today for a tour of EWU Campus.
KellerRay starts Running Start there this fall!
This is a common thing I'm hearing with my coaching clients.
I'm sure the answer is different for all of us. What do you think?
Share it with me in the comments!
I may need to use my feet to give massage today. Arms are toast!

I love the sun! ☀️
BUT.
It wasn't all that long ago that even a day like today in the early spring would leave me feeling drained, anxious, and sometimes depressed.
How can that be?
I've shared recently about my SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder), and that even spring is a tough transition for me. You may know that I had a little breakdown a few weeks ago (so many of you helped encourage me, thank you)!
Well, breakdowns lead to breakthroughs! Over the past 8 years or so I have really learned to manage my energy. Some of my top tips are:
😴 Have a consistent sleep schedule
🚫 Say No to some things so you don't get overwhelmed
💦 Drink plenty of water
💪 Get regular physical activity
🍎 Nourish your body with healthy foods
📖 Read or listen to personal development material. *May include- devotions, bible, prayer
👥 Engage in community!
I'd love to hear how you manage your energy. What do we have in common? What do you do that's not on my list?
P.s. I'll be sharing more in my stories this week so follow me there!
Mom, can you help me lift these?
Belle loves our workout time! 💪
It's not because you're you. It's because you're human.
We all go through hard times.
If we're lucky, those hard times make us better, stronger, and more prepared to handle tough things.
Instead of wishing and hoping for good luck, why not start creating your own luck?
If you're thinking, "How do I do that?"Join us next week as we uncover things like
🍀 Creating space in your day by deleting habits that aren't serving you.
🍀 Controlling your am and pm bookends with routines that help you accomplish your goals.
🍀 Installing new habits and locking them in for success!
If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, leave the comment LUCK below.
I'm beyond grateful for this person right here. She's my biggest fan, strongest supporter, and all around amazing human.
We just finished the first collection of Dig Deeper body building program. Its no secret this program is pushing us both! But we keep getting up at 0Dark:30 and pushing play.
Thanks babe, for loving me when I didn't love myself, being strong enough for us both when I didn't have the strength, and believing in me until I could start to believe in myself again. 🥰😘
