This poor mother lived in protective gloves for five years before we saw her in clinic and were able establish a correct diagnosis and get her clear.

Rosacea is a chronic skin condition that typically takes years to develop and shows up as redness, tender red and white bumps, and dilated blood vessels in the central face.

Treatment can be a variety of modalities — including dietary changes, laser treatments and topical or oral medications. Sun protection is also an important preventative tool for this condition, and since it can affect the eyes, wearing sunglasses with broad spectrum UV coverage is also a must!

Hair loss can be a devastating thing to experience regardless of age or gender. There are many different types of hair loss, and having an accurate diagnosis is important because treatment approaches vary depending on subtype. It's important to catch scarring forms of hair loss early, like Dr. Reed's patient pictured here, who has something called frontal fibrosing alopecia (FFA). Hair loss in scarring forms of alopecia is permanent, so halting its progression is vital!

Dr. Reed has a special interest in different types of hair loss and developed expertise through her training at Duke University as well as serving as a local referral source for patients suffering from alopecia.
