Assuming that everyone who corresponded with me today about copies of the book contacts my wife to verify ordering, ALL BOOKS HAVE BEEN SOLD. Frankly, I did not anticipate selling all copies. I hope that the stories I have shared are lifestyle stories that have some connection to the lives of those who read them. If not, I hope that, at least, the investment brings smiles.
There was that afternoon in creative writing class, my senior year at Holy Spirit HS, when I read my story to the class. When I finished, the class applauded—maybe that was when I first recognized that there was an audience that liked my writing. Maybe it was earlier in my high school career; my friend Phil Juliano claims he was the first to notice my creative side when I wrote “The Great Garwood Mills Robbery” and The Phantom of the Inlet.” My mother wanted a doctor or a lawyer, my father thought I’d be best suited for the military life. My mother got her way—they worked hard and saved and in the late summer of 65, I left my beach town to travel as a Boardwalk Philosopher. Thank you to all those who have not only shared this journey but have provided the direction that was so essential, you have been Guardian Angels.
