Holding on to summer days! 🌞🛶
Individuals from room 1,2,3, and Bridges to Employment wanted to challenge the Rahway River. Off we went to the Cranford Canoe Club, and we did the canoeing on the Rahway River. 4 teams worked together by communicating/working on strategies to keep the canoe straight to the right direction w/everyone having their own paddle. They had a blast doing this on a beautiful summer morning. Thank you for everyone who helped me make this trip happened. Thank you!

Meet Jamal Mills. Jamal was hired as a Support Professional for the Day Behavioral Health Program, The Opportunities Program, in June 2024. He holds an undergraduate degree from William Paterson University in Marketing. Since Jamal joined the team, he has demonstrated willingness to assist his colleagues and more importantly, assist and supervise the individuals served. Jamal pays close attention to detail, is flexible as well as being a team player. One of his greatest strengths is his ability to effectively communicate.
We are looking forward to Jamal's continued contributions and successes within The Arc of Union County. Thank you, Jamal!

We are so very grateful for the Council's continued support of the agency and the individuals we serve. Bridges to Employment individuals recently ventured to the Jersey Garden Mall. Fitness staff led the scavenger hunt game where they were split up in to 3 pairs. They were very successful in finding which items are sold in which stores by using critical thinking skills. The art instructor led an assignment for them to draw up a Logo for their own store after seeing the stores during the hunt. They were all creative with their drawings, Well done Bridges!

"My son has a speech delay and Ms. Nicole started helping us through since he was 20 months up until he turned 3 years old. As a first-time parent to our son, it's a struggle since everything was new to us. But with Ms. Nicole's help everything gets better. My son has come a long way from where he's started (from throwing toys out, sitting from the highchair while playing, to just sat on his regular chair and play together.
Ms. Nicole is always on time and never missed her class. She's flexible specially in those times we needed a make-up class. She's not just a teacher, she's also become a friend to our family.

We're engaged in an amazing in-service week filled with team-building activities designed to strengthen our teamwork and enhance our ability to serve individuals with intellectual and developmental challenges. 💪🤝

Our dedicated staff participated in various exercises, earlier this week, that fostered collaboration, communication, and creativity. From problem-solving games to trust-building exercises, every activity was a step towards becoming an even more cohesive and supportive team.

By cultivating these skills, we're better prepared to deliver the exceptional care and support that our community deserves. Together, we can make a difference and empower individuals to reach their full potential!

Our green-thumbed participants have been working diligently to nurture their plants 🪴 and now they’re reaping the “fruits” of their labor!
