🇺🇸 This past Saturday, we presented our first-ever Veterans Writing Workshop in Bloomfield, Missouri in partnership with Stars and Stripes Museum.
Participants had the unique opportunity to explore the rich history of the Stars and Stripes military newspaper and museum, drawing inspiration for their writing from the exhibits and artifacts.
We especially thank our facilitators, Kent and Stacey Walker, for guiding the group through the art of ekphrasis writing, which sparked insightful and meaningful discussions. A shout-out to Barney the Cat, also known as the Hospitality Director, for warmly greeting our group. A special thank you to the Veterans United Foundation for their generous sponsorship.

What an incredible weekend at the Library of Congress National Book Festival in Washington, D.C.! 🌟📚 We were thrilled to showcase Missouri’s 2024 Great Reads from Great Places selections, *Mexikid* by Pedro Martín and *Bindle Punk Bruja: A Novel* by Desideria Mesa. The response was overwhelming—we sold out of all our books! 🎉
A huge highlight was the Mexikid Winnebago photo shoot, which was a huge hit with festival-goers. 🚐✨ Check out some of the fantastic moments captured during the event below!

🎉 Exciting news for Missouri! Washington University in St. Louis has been awarded $298,782 by the NEH for an incredible project: Translating the Americas: Early Modern Jewish Writings on the New World. Led by Project Director Flora Cassen, this initiative will translate and prepare two fascinating 16th-century accounts of the New World by Sephardic Jews, Joseph Ha-Kohem and Luis de Carvajal. This project will bring important historical perspectives to light and enrich our understanding of early Jewish experiences in the Americas. Congratulations to all involved! 👏
