Meet Osa, after completing our Personal & Professional Development training, he signed up for the Pre-Apprenticeship Program at MOKAN CCAC , one of our community partners, where he will earn as he learns. Over the next 10 weeks he will learn the core construction skills needed for entry into the construction field and will receive certificates in First Aid, Forklift, Blue Print reading, OSHA, Flagger training, Workplace Violence training and work zone Technician Training.

We are so proud of Osa and cant wait to see where his journey takes him!!

Due to an overwhelming amount of support for Dress for Success Kansas City we are pausing our donation days and will reopen them when we are ready to accept fall and winter clothing.

Our offices will be closed July 4th and 5th in honor of Independence Day!

Since January our team has provided 6 Personal and Professional Development classes in 5 prisons to over 70 men and women returning home to Missouri communities. Upon their release, we are connecting them to skill-based training and employment that provides career pathways through our partnerships with training programs and employers.

We are grateful for our volunteers who celebrated Juneteenth by creating make-up bags for women we serve through Dress for Success Kansas City and Keisha’s Closet. We also got new storage to better help us organize our boutique!

Our offices will be closed today in honor of Juneteenth.

Today, the class is practicing their interview skills in preparation for their upcoming Mock Interviews. They are working on their 30-second commercials, articulating their talents and skills, and answering difficult background questions.

Today was "suiting" day in our St. Charles office and although we have lots of amazing items for our participants to select from, every now and then we are low on certain items. Today was one of those days. We are in need of 2 pair of men's dress pants, size 28 or 29. We need a black and either grey/navy. Ideal length is 30.

Meet Wayne. Wayne came to Connections to Success in June of 2023. He was determined to make different choices and be there for his young son, but he wasn't exactly sure how to make those things happen. Wayne said, "Connections to Success gave me the confidence and put me in the right mindset to do the right thing."

Wayne has made great strides in this last year. He recently began working at Ford Manufacturing, bought a car, sees his son daily, and recently celebrated a year of sobriety. Wayne also leads NA and AA classes at the Transition Center of Kansas City.

We have the privilege to work with returning citizens daily. This , 34 new returning citizens completed our Personal and Professional Development course. We are so proud of Wayne and all of the returning citizens we work with on a daily basis.

Nearly 20,000 individuals return to Missouri from Correctional Facilities each year.

Since the start of 2024, we have facilitated three classes, and a forth will graduate on Friday, inside various correctional facilities across Missouri. We proudly offer our services to individuals and help prepare them to get their living-wage jobs upon their return home.

We are excited to offer our Life Transformation Coaching, Job Development, and Connect programs to all of these individuals in each of the communities we serve.
