An update from the St. Clair Shores Police Department regarding the recent wave of Larcenies from Automobiles:
Last Friday, through the course of an investigation into the recent larcenies from automobiles, the St. Clair Shores Detective Bureau followed a lead that took them to an address in Detroit. There, contact was made with the homeowner and three juveniles.
A search of the address was conducted and multiple pieces of property relating to larcenies that took place in St. Clair Shores were recovered, including: 4 stolen fi****ms, numerous stolen credit cards and key fobs for multiple vehicles.
The juveniles were turned over to their guardians. The SCSPD Detective Bureau will present the information to the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office for review.

Please take a moment to join us in saying goodbye and wishing a happy retirement to Detective Jennifer Nelson. Detective Nelson has been a member of the St. Clair Shores Police Department for 24 years to the day! She started her career at Detroit PD before coming to the Shores where she earned a Life Saving Award and Distinguished Service Award. She also holds the title of longest serving Evidence Technician at 16 years. Thank you, Detective Nelson, for your dedication to this city and we wish you a happy, healthy retirement!
We wanted to give a shout out to Sgt. Bowers who completed the Detroit Marathon in 4:09:08! Not that it's a competition or anyone is keeping score, but it's just slightly faster than the St. Clair Shores Firefighters 👀
Jokes aside, congrats to everyone who participated!
Today, the St. Clair Shores Police Department welcomed Officer Cody Dalton to the force. Officer Dalton began his career in the U.S. Coast Guard before joining the Detroit Police Department and then the Livonia Police Department.
We also celebrated the promotion of Sgt. Chomos to the rank of Lieutenant and Officer Cynowa to the rank of Sergeant.
Welcome Cody, and congratulations Lt. Chomos and Sgt. Cynowa!
There were few dry eyes in the building as we said farewell to Lt. Jenna Conrad after an outstanding 25-year career. Lt. Conrad started with the St. Clair Shores Police Department in 1998, earning the Lifesaving Award and Meritorious Service Award on her way to being promoted to the rank of Sergeant. Lt. She was then promoted to Lieutenant and oversaw the Traffic Bureau beginning in 2019. Lt. Conrad was the first female Sergeant and first and only female Lieutenant in St. Clair Shores history. Please join us in saying “Thank you” and wishing her a happy retirement!
Thank you to everyone who showed up and braved the chilly weather! We had a great time, and we hope you did too! A special thanks to all who were involved, including:

Good afternoon,
Due to the recent wave of vehicle break-ins, we are once again asking everyone to be sure to lock your vehicles every night and leave absolutely nothing of value in the car. Locking your vehicle is not a fail-safe way to prevent crime but significantly lowers your chances of being a victim.
We take vehicle break-ins very seriously and investigate every lead possible. We are deploying different patrol tactics and operations to try and catch these criminals and prevent future break-ins. Unfortunately, we cannot be everywhere at once and cannot predict where the criminals will strike next. That is why we ask that you lock your doors, remove your valuables, and call us if you see anything suspicious.
Thank you,
The St. Clair Shores Police Department
