🚨URGENT ACTION NEEDED ON HB 1552🚨
Last night HB1552 came out of the Missouri House with the bare minimum of votes needed for passage. This harmful bill will cut $18 million/year in funding from Saint Louis Public Schools. The final vote to send the bill to the Senate will happen on Thursday, March 10, so we still have time to fight for our schools!
Please contact the following representatives TODAY and ask them to reconsider their decision to defund St. Louis Public Schools. These 6 Democrats all voted YES on this bill last night and need to hear from us asap!

Dear St. Louis Public Schools Families,
Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year! Following a school year of unprecedented challenges, the Parent Action Council (PAC) stands ready to support you. There is an old saying: “If you want to go fast, go alone, but if you want to go far, go together.” I think together, we can go pretty far and create a community where all of our children grow, learn, and thrive!
What We Do
Working closely with the Office of Family and Community Engagement and the Parent Liaison, the PAC serves as a community network, a way to advocate for change, and a resource to address the concerns of SLPS parents and guardians.
What You Can Do
If you are a parent or guardian of a child attending SLPS, you are automatically a member of the PAC! In addition, each school in the District can have up to two voting PAC representatives, who are chosen in coordination with the school's Family and Community Specialist.
Contact us using one of the methods listed on the left, or join us for our monthly meetings. We work together in multiple ways to address common issues that affect public schools and students. Add your voice, energy, and talents to the effort! Any parent, guardian, and/or SLPS staff member is welcome to attend our meetings, which will all be held on Zoom for 2021-22.
Topics We’ll Cover This Year
- Advocating for your child
- Student support services
- Legislation that will impact your child’s education
- Literacy programs
- Food service
- Technology support
- Plus, anything YOU need to talk about!
I look forward to connecting with as many of you as possible, and I can’t wait to see you at our first PAC meeting, Sept. 16, on Zoom! Email [email protected] for the link.
Best,
Emily Koeltzow, PAC Chair
