Did you know that bariatric surgery is often an effective treatment for type 2 diabetes?
This type of diabetes affects the way the body processes blood sugar or glucose. Weight loss procedures, such as duodenal switch, gastric bypass, or sleeve gastrectomy, treat diabetes by controlling how much sugar is in the blood by reducing the size of a patient's stomach.
