Back at Columbia Bottom Conservation Area this morning.

Hey guys, we have been getting a lot of requests asking if the sunflowers are blooming yet. 🌻 The answer is YES! The sunflowers are blooming now, and will continue to be in bloom throughout the month of July into August!

The first sunflower blooms at Columbia Bottom Conservation Area. A gorgeous sunset with rays of light shooting from the clouds, overshadowing the glowing sunflowers basking in the wading glow.

There are a few fields of sunflowers in differing stage of growth which should provide a constant stream of new blooms through the summer. I can't wait to go back and shoot some more.

The first sunflower blooms at Columbia Bottom Conservation Area. A gorgeous sunset with rays of light shooting from the clouds, overshadowing the glowing sunflowers basking in the wading glow.

There are a few fields of sunflowers in differing stage of growth which should provide a constant stream of new blooms through the summer. I can't wait to go back and shoot some more.

Did you know Maple seed pods (Samaras) are edible and packed with protein?
Pop the seed out of these tiny green gems straight from the tree for a trailside snack or bring them home for a tasty treat!
Think edamame meets snap peas when sautéed.
Pro tip: Harvest smaller, green pods for the best flavor. If they're bitter, try slow roasting for a sweeter outcome (250-300F for about 15 min). All Maple Trees have edible seeds so taste different varieties to find the best tasting seeds to you.

6 years ago today, picture taken with an iPhone from a Missouri community in totality. Who is ready for April 8, 2024 “Total Eclipse of the Bluff?!!” In Poplar Bluff, Mo.…..concerts, fireworks, free shuttles, downtown musical festival, educational event (retired NASA astronaut), several viewing stations, family (kid) activities and much more! We are selling eclipse glasses and shirts now. We will also have cups and koozies soon.

Sunflowers as far as the eye can see!

Another beautiful sunset at Columbia Bottom Conservation Area tonight. A few more clouds and more pastel colors in the sky. I took my chances on a different field tonight - one I hadn't been to. This might be the largest sunflower field I've seen. You could get lost in there.

In the distance were the sounds of coyotes. I'll be posting a reel soon with all of the sounds.
