- CVNG 1000 - Intro to Civil Engineering focuses on curiosity and creativity. students use LEGO bricks to complete a site design they later convert to virtual models for a final project presentation. The most recent project focused on the new Gateway South Development in St. Louis.

Students in CVNG 1000 - Intro to Civil Engineering spend several days each spring exploring the six sub-disciplines of civil engineering: construction, environmental, geotechnical, structural, transportation, and water resources. Students experience each sub-discipline through various hands-on activities.

SLU's ASCE student chapter recently took a field trip to the National Building Arts Center, home of the country's largest collection of architectural artifacts! They enjoyed the tour of the facility, viewing their collection of various materials and sculptures and their research library.

Two projects focus on the new Gateway South Development in partnership with the Good Developments Group and the third focuses on a pedestrian bridge to link the City Foundry and Armory across I-64 in St. Louis.
