Trivers
Trivers is a St. Louis based architecture, planning, urban design and interiors firm.
With our ongoing commitment to improving the diversity of our team and fostering a more inclusive culture, Trivers is excited to announce that we have successfully renewed our Just Label! 🌍✨
Issued by the International Living Future Institute (ILFI), the Just Label is a voluntary disclosure tool that guides organizations in creating meaningful policies and ensuring those policies translate into actions by requiring reporting on six key social justice indicators: Diversity, Inclusion, Compensation, Health, Benefits, and Stewardship.
The renewal process not only highlights our strengths but also reveals opportunities for improvement. “We have come a long way from when we received our first Just Label five years ago,” said Becky Gale, Trivers operations administrator and associate. “It inspired us to make improvements to processes such as hiring and promotion, which led to boosts in indicators like ethnic diversity and inclusion. However, we know there is still work to be done.”

🏌️♂️Trivers swung into action at The Sheldon Art Galleries’ 7th annual Golf the Galleries event! This interactive exhibition blends art, architecture, and family fun into a playful mini golf course set within the Sheldon Art Galleries in Grand Center. Our team has spent the last few months designing and executing the first hole, titled "Treads and Tones." This hole introduces a contest between two players, using a ‘staircase’ of varying rhythm and obstacles, guaranteeing a hole-in-one.

Trivers’ restoration of the Missouri State Capitol in Jefferson City is on the cover of the latest issue of Natural Stone Institute’s Building Stone Magazine. Over a span of five years, Trivers and its consultants meticulously repaired more than 515,000 square feet of exterior limestone to maintain safe conditions for people working inside the capitol and preserve all the features that make it so grand.
“We weren’t trying to improve it, we were working to preserve it,” Trivers Principal Joe Brinkmann, AIA, LEED AP told Building Stone Magazine. “It’s a compliment if people say they don’t even know we did anything. It was 100 years old when we did this, and hopefully we’ve given it its next 100 years.”

Trivers is partnering with Jubilee Community Development Corporation to breathe new life into the historic 51,380 sf Eliot School in North St. Louis that has been abandoned since 2004. As the Jubilee Community Wellness Center, it will aim to address the fentanyl epidemic via a crisis clinic with out-patient and counseling services, an independently run on-site pharmacy and lab, community and welcome spaces, a commercial kitchen, and space for training and fellowship.
“My vision for this is that building is that first light that starts to radiate out,” Trivers Principal Joel Fuoss told the Times. “I think a project of this consequence, and this special component that it is, has that power…because you have this group of people here that are committed and invested.”
