Stray Rescue of St. Louis

We rescue the abandoned, beaten, bred, fought, injured, terrified, defeated & betrayed.

The minute they arrive, we look in their eyes & promise them ALL the second chance they deserve for health, home, commitment & love, no matter the time or cost.

Imagine walking through the woods and stumbling upon....a pile of puppies! Then a very skinny mama, doing everything she can to avoid eye contact with you...
!!
A couple of Good Samaritans were able to get them all in their car (mom and TEN BABIES!) and get them all here, to safety. Mom is sooo sweet. She's scared but very kind and grateful for the help. And with today being our Golf Tournament, we appropriately named them:
Mary, Queen of Scots and her 10 Pro Golfer Babies:
Ricky Howler
Roary McIlroy
Tiger Woofs
Graeme McHowel
Betsy Jawls
Inbee Bark
Doggie Pepper
Louis Puggs
Arnold Pawmer
& Woofy Austin

Our golf tournament is officially here!!
We can't wait to hit the course today, thanks to Hoffmann Brothers, our Hole in One Sponsor! This year is the 10 year anniversary of our partnership, and we can't say enough good things about this incredible company. If you don't use them yet for your heating, cooling, plumbing, or electrical work, you should absolutely give them a call. From the Brothers themselves, to the marketing department, to the amazing people that visit your home, they are top notch. As their business grows and grows, they place their values in helping their community, and we can tell you, they are always there for us, they are a hole in one! See you soon, golfers!

Our sold-out golf tournament is almost here!
Why does it sell out every year so early? Well of course you get to play hooky on a beautiful September Tuesday for a tremendous cause, but we go all out. You'll find fun drinks, bars, and snacks ALL OVER THE COURSE.
Like Marybeth Wallace with Realty Executives of St. Louis' hole - The Prosecco Bar!
She'll serve you up some bubbly however you like it, and it makes the day sooo fun, just ask our players! Thank you Marybeth for your support, your kind and loving heart, for being there for our underdogs, and for helping us make our fundraising events successful as well as memorable. You are the best!

This is the sweetest old man!
Who has a sweet spot for the seniors? He's about 9 years old, easy going, and his name is Bannister. He came to us thin, weak, and all alone on a cold day. He was grumpy when he came in, after a life of being let down. Oh my gosh, you should see him now.
He's such a happy, easy going, cuddly fellow. He's large - 65 pounds, but prefers long, slow walks so he can smell everything. We all absolutely adore him and can't wait to get him into his forever home (no kitties, please!)
Let's get this guy out of the shelter and onto a couch where he belongs:

Let's talk about Madelyn (and those ears!) again, because a wonderful family somewhere is not complete, and it's because they haven't met Madelyn, yet!
First of all, she is big and strong, so needs a strong handler.
But she's just a big mush ball.
She grunts and makes communicative sounds like a little piggy. She will be fun to train because she loves to please her person. She's very neat, tidy, and well-mannered, so she gets to live in one of the offices here at Stray Rescue. She dances around and does the cutest things, so her office dad will reward her with lots of affection, it's absolutely adorable.
She is a volunteer favorite and often gets to go on adventures or long walks around our city. Her favorite thing is stopping to roll in the grass and scratch her back!
Madelyn is looking to be your one and only, she is a part of our . Have you heard of this yet? If not, check this out!
When you adopt a pup who needs to be your only pet, we will support you with:
- Free food for the dog's entire life
- Free preventatives for the dog's entire life
- Fee routine medical care for the dog's entire life
We offer all of these great benefits just hoping someone will say - Yeah! I only need one dog, that sounds great! That's it!
Check this 4 year old cutie pie out and see if she's the one you've been waiting for! will even cover her adoption fee, too!

Ripley continues to improve every day. She is gaining strength. This sweet girl is still unsure what she should be doing with herself, but as her confidence grows and she continues to feel better, her uncertainty and fear will hopefully subside. She is still on antibiotics as we heal her skin, but we can already tell she's feeling more comfortable. Keep going, Ripley - there is a whole world out there waiting for you. Strayrescue.org/Ripley

Randy Morgan of Guild Mortgage, aka Batman.
He is playing a big part in making our upcoming SOLD OUT Golf Tournament on Tuesday possible!
He and his wife Debi, do much for our animals, that we might run out of characters in this post. They are two of the biggest hearted humans there are, and we are so lucky to have them in our corner. Whether they are feeding bottle babies every 4 hours, fostering Moms & puppies, bringing food for our entire staff, ordering medical equipment for our clinic, or staying after an event to clean up, you will always see him with arms wide open for a hug. Thanks for having our back Randy Morgan, and thanks for being a sponsor for our golf tournament!

Small, rural shelters are having to make impossible decisions every single day. And they get attacked online for it. They have no options, no resources.
"Humans are failing animals at a rate we can't possibly keep up with," said our CEO, Cassady. These small shelters are working so hard and struggling every day with no resources. A small shelter in Lebanon, Missouri, was at their wit's end. These three happy, healthy, dog-friendly dogs were all going to be euthanized. Thankfully, we just had a couple of wonderful adoptions and were able to pull all three of them today.
We are all in this together, and we're thankful to be in the city of St. Louis, where we have a growing community of animal lovers helping us so we can help them.
If you are able to foster or are maybe looking for a new family member, we want to see you! Meet with our amazing team of matchmakers and let them help you find a great fit for your family. We do adopt out of state as well!
Check out Strayrescue.org/AdoptFAQ and fill out an app. The babies are ready for you! Thank you for being there for us so we could save their precious lives and give RELIEF to the people who have been caring for them and loving them!

We have lots of brave, strong survivors that are CLEARED by our clinic and ready to go to foster homes! We have cats, kittens, dogs, and puppies - all ready to go. Here are just a couple of them:

Bucky - A very happy, sweet boy who is VERY ready to get out of here. He has demodex mange (not contagious to people or animals) that will continue to get better and better. He already looks so much better than when he first came in. He's dog friendly and ready to go! We will send medicated shampoo home with him for bath time.

Squirtle - A very friendly boy that came in too skinny. He is now to a healthy weight and had an FHO on his hip. He can't rough house with anyone yet, but he is no longer on crate rest! He'll need to go to a home that will continue helping him gain weight (we'll send diet info and food home with him). He's sooo happy!

AG Cook - This cutie patootie puppy had his FHO surgery as well! He can run around but we don't want him rough housing with other pups for a couple more weeks while his false joint forms, so he needs a comfy place to continue healing.

Who are you interested in, Bucky, Squirtle, or AG Cook? What questions do you have about being a medical foster? We are here to answer your questions, let's get these strong babies out of the clinic and into homes where they can be spoiled!

Help us raise the woof for these two little broken babies we are putting back together! This is AG Cook and Snick. AG just had an FHO (Femoral Head Ostectomy) and is healing from his surgery. Snick had an amputation on one leg, and he is scheduled to have an FHO on another leg! We're putting these two back together, one leg at a time. Sweet little angels.
Are you able to foster one as soon as they are medically cleared? You'll assist in their healing, keeping them suuuuper comfy and spoiled (so hard, we know 🥰), as well as bring them in for medical check-ups. They just met each other, so you don't have to foster them both together, just one or the other! Let us know, thank you!

Eckert's Country Store & Farms has done a great honor for our underdogs. This year, they have cut their iconic corn maze into....THE STRAY RESCUE OF ST. LOUIS LOGO! This is one of the coolest things we've ever seen!

Also, PLEASE JOIN US at Eckert's (Millstadt location) next Saturday 9/14 from 12-2 to meet adoptable dogs, grab some Stray Rescue merchandise (including a limited-time-only corn maze shirt), and more! Good Morning everyone, from Tifa!
If you thought she was just a young puppy, this will really surprise you! We believe her to be about 2 years old. Her teeth are yucky, but that must be from eating trash or possibly dead animals on the street. She was left in a box, so someone owned her, it's hard to know exactly what happened. She's so, so strong. Can you see the softness in her eyes? She knows she's safe. Strayrescue.org/Tifa

09/05/2024

The members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Primary made dog and cat toys for all our shelter babies. The Sorensen Family was kind enough to drop everything off! Thank you so much!

We arrived on the scene and were met by the sweetest man, carrying the skinny puppy in a towel. He was in tears. He found this dog in a box behind the dumpster at his apartment complex a couple of days ago. He couldn’t believe the sight of her. He picked her up and carried her home, determined to save her life. A few days later, he became so overwhelmed, he realized he was in over his head.
Sir, you did more for this little girl than so many people would have. Do not beat yourself up, you are her angel. She just needs more care than you were able to give, but we know she will never forget the kind touch, warm home, or compassionate tears you offered her. Now we will do everything we possibly can to save her precious life.
We named her Tifa. She is hypothermic and hypoglycemic, all signs pointing to refeeding syndrome. We are giving her warm fluids, and working to stabilize her body temperature. We’re putting in a catheter and offering her a very small amount of watered down wet food. She shows interest, which is a good sign, but does not want to eat. But every time we compliment her, she wags her tail like crazy. What an absolute doll.
If we can’t get her stable, we’ll take her to an overnight emergency clinic, updates to come. We will keep everyone in the know as we continue our work.
For now, please donate for Tifa if you can and thank you for helping us save their lives: Strayrescue.org/Tifa
