In honor of National Physical Fitness and Sports Month, we would like to highlight the our SWIM1922 Campaign and our Partnership with USA Swimming to raise swimming knowledge, safety, and participation in the Black Community
For the months of April and May, USA Swimming and Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated hope to effect real change in the rates of swim participation among African American women and girls through the Swim 1922 Contest 2014.
You don't have to be an member of Sigma Gamma Rho to join the competition. If you'd like to participate, create an account and earn points through the following activities:
50 Points - Become a USA Swimming member
5 Points - Completing learn-to-swim lessons with a Make a Splash Local Partner
3 Points - Completing learn-to-swim lessons with any other provider
2 Points - Attending a swim meet or other aquatic event
2 Points - Signing "Learn to Swim" or "Swim More" Pledge
1 Point Every - 10 laps swam or every 15 minutes of in-water activity

20 years ago today, the original charter for the Xi Delta Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc. was established at Stanford University by the Spring '94 Line--Sorors Angelia Yvonne Thompkins, Anitra LaDonna Hankins, Jessica Yvette Brewster, Melanie Anne Charles, Michelle Renee Scott, Sasheen Raina Artis, Susan Salcedo (Spring '93).
And a special shout owt to Spring '93 Sorors Mari Smith and Felicia Williams as well as Spring '95 Sorors Tara Bernard-Beasley, Pamela Edwards -Brown, Renee Brown-Dyson and Denise Shepherd!
The Xi Delta reactivation members, current Xi Delta members and all the Xi Delta Pretty Poodles in between would like to thank ALL of the women above for bringing Sigma to Stanford University and paving the way for our future.
