QTPOC Kickback is hosting two late night study sessions on Thursday May 30th and June 6th. QSpot will be open from 10pm-2am. Join us for chill work vibes and snacks! 🌈
This workshop will focus on trans POC self-care and exploring the neurodevelopmental research on how trauma lives in the brain and body.
Dr. Coleman Nunes will present the latest research, and then pivot to how trans folks can utilize biofeedback, sensory self regulation, meditation and other mindfulness practices to mitigate the impacts of trauma in our daily lives. Throughout the presentation, attendees will be invited to weave in ancestral practices and learn about historical examples of self-care and community care that marginalized people have always relied on.
The workshop will end with an accessible olfactory practice of creating essential oil blends for self-care (with another option for those with chemical sensitivities).
This event centers the experiences of trans people of color.

Join us as we culminate our Q***r Learning series with a celebration of love in all its forms! On this special day, not only do we honor the birthday of Dodie Bellamy, the trailblazing novelist and Guggenheim Fellow, but we also embrace the spirit of anti-capitalist Valentine's with a festive gathering at QSPOT.
Dodie, a leading light in the New Narrative movement, invites us to reimagine storytelling with her audacious blend of sexuality, politics, and literary experimentation. Let's gather to toast to Dodie's influence and the q***r forms of love and friendship we've explored throughout this series. We'll cast the I Ching for Lunar New Year insights, pull tarot cards for personal revelations, and share our reflections on a quarter filled with q***r learning and growth.
As the finale of our series, this event is not just a party but a declaration of our community's resilience and creativity. Be part of this momentous evening, a blend of birthday cheers, anti-capitalist discourse, and the shared dreams of our q***r learning journey.
Here's to the stories we've told and the many more we'll create together. Let's send off our series with hearts wide open and spirits soaring! 🚀💖

Winter 2024 QT Fund! 🪴Now Open
Application open week-6: Feb 5-17, 2024!
What is it? The QT Fund was created as a systemic way to support students' lived experiences of being q***r/trans/non binary/lgb2 and address the specific financial hurdles students encounter and burdens they bear when navigating systems of inequity at Stanford and beyond.
What can it cover? As part of QSR and Weiland’s mission to support the health and wellness of students in the q***r and trans communities, this fund is designed to financially support students to access gender and sexuality affirming medical, legal and mental health services (e.g. co-pays for therapy, costs of name changes, surgery costs).
What else do I need to know? All enrolled & registered students at Stanford are eligible, including postdocs and students on a leave of absence. No prior involvement/affiliation with Weiland, CAPS, Vaden, or QSR required. There is a $500 grant limit per student per academic year. Funding will most likely be configured and awarded according to the quarterly amount requested.
Funding for the QT Fund comes from QSR and the Weiland Health Initiative, whose missions strive to support students of all genders and sexual identities at Stanford. Learn more here!
