This past Thursday, we hosted our first monthly meeting at our new HQ and quickly reached capacity. We are excited to see this continuing momentum leading up to Election Day and appreciate everyone’s interest in getting involved.

This month, we are conducting a "Paper Potluck" request for all members. To help us get situated in our new space, we request (if feasible) for members to bring a spare roll of paper towels, paper plates, paper cups, and/or paper/plastic cutlery for use at future meetings and events. This is a quick, easy way to contribute to the organization with minimal time commitment. If you have some items in your cupboard taking up space, send them our way!
Snacks and Chats starts at 6 p.m. with the call to order taking place at 6:30 p.m. We hope to see you there!

The Payne County Democrats would like to extend their congratulations to our Chair, Justin Worley, for being nominated for the Redbud Award given by the Oklahoma Democratic Party this past Thursday, Aug. 1, at the Gov. Beshear Dinner in Oklahoma City.
The Redbud Award is given annually to an extraordinary Democrat who exhibits the principles of strong county leadership. Justin was nominated for his work of bringing our county office back to reality and continuing to grow our membership. Congrats, Justin!
On another note, we are happy to report that the Oklahoma Democratic Party has raised enough money this election cycle to contribute directly to Democratic candidates running for office across the state of Oklahoma. This is the first time the state party has been able to do this in 20 years.
The tide is turning, and it’s turning blue!
With so much happening in the Democratic Party, we are very excited to announce that we now have a new campaign headquarters opening soon at 1002 S. Husband St. However, we need this to be more than just that; we need it to be a home in which a variety of activities can occur. A place that says "welcome" but looks professional. Currently we have lovely walls, bare floors and lots of space with nothing else. Therefore, we are starting a housewarming campaign and asking for financial donations to help transform our headquarters. Your contributions will ensure that the HQ becomes a functional and welcoming space for our volunteers, young Democrats, general membership and most importantly, candidates and their campaign staff.
Donate here: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/pcdhq
To celebrate the occasion and recognize you for your contribution, we will be hosting a housewarming party where we will honor you for making the night and HQ a possibility. We will also create a permanent fixture in HQ to honor you and let everyone who walks in know how much you support our endeavors.
The Payne County Dems had a great turnout at the July coffee chat! Thank you to everyone who attended today’s event.
Friendly reminder that our monthly coffee chat is tomorrow at 10 a.m. at Aspen Coffee in Lakeview Pointe! We’ll see you soon.
"Today's announcement brings a lot of anxiety and uncertainty. It's a political move not seen in five decades and in an era where the future truly is uncertain.
But one thing is clear: today's announcement from Joe Biden stepping down as the presumptive Democratic nominee is a sign that our democracy's health is on the upswing."

"Today's global Internet outage could've been worse. It's the regulations our own federal government has in place that ensured it wasn't.
Today's events serve as a glimpse of what life could continue to be like under a far-right Republican presidency."
