At the June 8 Red Line action in Washington, DC, Jim and Lily were happy to meet the "Filipinos for Palestine" contingent from Washington, DC., a lot of them students and members of Malaya. Jim and I (Lily) came with a 2-busload contingent from Dearborn, MI to join the action.
Join us on August 23-25 for Kapwa Nilalang [Becoming Good Kin]: Recovering Our Earth-Centered Traditions of Spirituality! The symposium will be held at Maryville Retreat Center in Holly, MI. Use the discount code KAPWA24 by June 7, 2024 to secure the discounted rate ($75 off the regular price). REGISTER HERE: https://www.centerforbabaylanstudies.org/events/kapwa-nilalang-recovering-our-earth-honoring-traditions-of-spirituality
Kapwa Nilalang is an invitation to expand our kamalayan (consciousness) beyond the confines of our two-legged world to that of our myriad-shaped, multi-form kapwa relatives—the winged, the finned, the crawlers, the standing nations (trees), the flowing (water) and blowing (wind) peoples, etc.—those that, for millennia, have been keeping our delicately-balanced world alive and thriving through their unique giftings and abilities. These are our Kapwa Nilalang, our fellow creatures, our kin, our relatives. In returning to community with our more-than-human kin, we hope to find once more the joy of true homecoming.
