Come join Lexie and Samantha for the Speech Therapy Month Reception happening NOW!
The reception will be going on until 3:30p!
April is Occupational Therapy Month! Our OTs want y’all to come boogie with them April 25th from 1:30-3:30 at the Rehabilitation Center at the RPMH.
There will be refreshments and snacks! You will have the opportunity to talk with Larissa, Lexi and Rachel about what OT is!
🎄12th Day of OT Christmas🎄
Our final day of OT Christmas is spotlighting Instrumental Activities of Daily living (IADLS).
Majority of our lives consist of IADLs. We drive. We cook. We go grocery shopping or just retail shopping! Whatever is hindering you from doing the activities you love to do, that’s where occupational therapists use their skills to help you overcome the barriers!
Tell what some of your favorite activities are to do!
🎄11th Day of OT Christmas🎄
When you are in the hospital, occupational therapy helps address many areas. OTs help with increasing independence for dressing, grooming, bathing, and we help with increasing strength to help you return home safely!
So when you are in the hospital, speak with your doctor about having occupational therpay to increase your safety to return home!
🎄10th Day of OT Christmas🎄
Oh the wonderful world of pediatrics! Occupational therapists help kiddos be able to grow and develop as they go.
Some areas we address developmental delays such as dressing skills and grasping objects. OTs help with educating and addressing sensory processing skills; when we think a child has bad behaviors it might just be a sensory issue! There is a lot we help address with kiddos!
Speak with an OT to see how we can help your child!
🎄9th Day of OT Christmas🎄
Home health is where we help bridge the gap from your stay in the hospital to outpatient therapy. With OT, we help to assess your home to help with living to your full potential. We help with adaptions in the home and bringing therapy to you for strengthening.
At RPMH, we have the priveledge to follow you from your stay at the hospital to home health and finally out at our outpatient clinic.
🎄8th Day of OT Christmas🎄
A big setting you will see OTs in is school-based therapy. OTs help kiddos achieve their academic goals. OTs are part of a team that is centered all around the child. OTs help teachers be able to have resources and information for their students to be able to be successful in the classroom.
🎄7th Day of OT Christmas🎄
Occupational therapists help address work place injuries, ergonomics in the workplace, and training of employees for body mechanics and safety to reduce work place injuries.
OTs also promote rest and recovery. In our day and age, it is really hard to slow down and rest. We encourage our patients to allow healing to their bodies on a weekly basis and not over use our bodies!
🎄6th Day of OT Christmas🎄
Now that mental health has become more recognized in our world, OT is a vital role of encouraging support and seeking the needed and appropriate help!
🎄5th Day of OT Christmas🎄
Here at RPMH, the majority of our patients are orthopedic injuries. We see rotator cuff, arthritis pain, carpal tunnel, nerve impingement, and so much more!
We help our patients with first trying to decrease their pain and find the problem. Then helping to increase functional use until returned to full use. As well as providing strengthening and home exercise program for our patients.
Speak with your local OT about how we can help you!
🎄4th day of OT Christmas🎄
OTs are known for looking at our patients holistically in order to find the ways to treat them best. This day of OT Christmas solidifies the fact that we extend our helping hand regardless of ethnicity, cultural norms, and gender roles.
🎄3rd Day of OT Christmas🎄
Occupational Therapists help with recommending adaptive equipment that meets your needs. There is a variety of equipment for just about any situation or disability.
Ask your OT more about adaptive equipment and how it can help you!
🎄2nd Day of OT Christmas🎄
OTs are all about ADLs! We love to help focus on making sure our patients are able to increase their independence with the daily basics.
ADLs are tasks you do every day such as getting dressed, brushing your teeth, bathing, eating, and drinking. If you have any difficulty doing those you might need an OTs assistance!
🎄It’s the 12 days of OT Christmas🎄
