Dancers, these are the essentials for a successful dance season!

Remember that a SMART goal is more than “get my right splits.” It should be specific, measurable, attainable, reachable and timely.

An example of a well written SMART goal is: I will stretch my hamstrings and hips for 25 minutes, 3 days per week so that I can increase my flexibility and improve my splits!

Dancers also remember that fueling your body is necessary for you to have the energy for class and helps keep you injury free!

Also, dance should be an IS fun! Don’t forget it, and find moments of joy during your training!

Save this post for later when you are setting yourself up for BACK TO DANCE!

Are you a dancer who is looking to take their technique to the next level? Let’s train! Comment DANCE for more details.

For dancers who want that strength for a sky high extension, here’s where I’d focus on ⬇️⬇️

👉🏼A strong core
👉🏼Strong hip flexors
👉🏼Strong glutes, quads, ankles for balance!

Dancers need a strong core to stabilize the body and maintain the correct placement, posture and alignment

Dancers need incredibly healthy and strong hip flexors so they can bring the leg high and HOLD IT 🙌

Dancers need strong glutes, quads and ankles - a strong supporting leg to maintain balance and stability!

If you’re a dancer who wants to improve their extensions. I have a training plan for you! Comment DANCE and I’ll send you the link!

👯‍♀️Strength training is essential for dancers!

We cannot ignore that dancers while practicing artistry, are also placing their body under similar duress that athletes do while in season.

🏋🏻‍♀️Athletes prepare themselves for this with extensive crosstraining, and dancers should be doing the same!

💪🏼Stronger muscles also helps dancers execute with precision and control!

This means cleaner movement, higher leaps, better extensions, and more consistent pirouettes!

Dancers, to train like the athlete you are and taking your technique to the next level, I have a 12 week plan for you! Comment DANCE to get the link!

Dancers, you are NOT lazy if you want to take a day off from dance! Repeat that to yourself!

⛱️This summer you deserve to make time for self care or trying something new!

❤️These are my favorite ways to indulge in some self-care. Especially enjoying a delicious meal!

What do you love to do besides dancing that fills your cup? Let me know in the comments👇🏼

Dancers, leaping to your fullest height with explosive power takes some consistent training.

Building stronger leg muscles such as glutes, hamstrings, and calves can help you generate the power needed to propel your body upwards!

Plyometrics helps develop power transfer and reactive strength so you can use your muscles efficiently.

If you’re a dancer who wants to explode with their leaps, I have a plan for you! Comment Leap for the link!

Dancers, this is one of my favorite metaphors for visualizing and understanding the physics of a pirouette!

🔑 One of the keys is pelvic stability - it is the source of consistent and MULTIPLE controlled rotations!

But What does that look like for dancers?
👉🏼 It means better alignment and posture
👉🏼 It means a strong core to hold the posture in place
👉🏼It means strong hips
👉🏼 It means strong glutes

Here are some exercises to try for improved pelvic stability!

Banded clamshells
Single leg RDLs
Side lying adductor lifts
Glute bridges

Are you a dancer who wants to transform their pirouettes and take them to the next level? I have a training plan for you! Comment TURN and I will send you the link!

It’s International Dance Day, and I spent most of my weekend thinking of all things I have done and experienced because of dance.

As I was reflecting, I found that I was so grateful for dance and how it has shaped my life! I would not be where I am, doing what I am doing, or have met the people I’ve worked with if it were not for dance.

So, because of dance, I’ve lived. What about you? Fill in the blank…. Because of dance, I _______. Share with me below!👇🏼

This is for the dancer who is super flexible but struggles to hold their leg up during an extension!

Keep in mind, the sustained hold an extension requires takes a huge amount of strength!

That is why strong hip flexors are a key component to higher legs!🦵
Also… strong hip flexors will also help you kick higher and leap higher too.

Take your extensions to the next level (literally) with my extreme extensions training plan. Dancers receive 2 (15 minute workouts) designed to help them hold their legs sky high! Comment DANCE and I will send you the link!

If you're a competition dancer, you are probably mid-competition season and receiving valuable feedback from the competition judges. Swipe for a list of ways to apply the valuable advice from competition judges!

Dancers when you review the critiques, remind yourself that this is an opportunity for you to grow as a dancer! It is not a reflection of your self-worth or how good you are as a dancer.

Set some S.M.A.R.T goals - specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and time-based - to help you stay on track, and make time to reflect on how improvments are going.

If you work with a dance trainer (like me!) create a plan of action to help you succeed and make those dance technique adjustments.

If there is something that comes up consistently and you are looking to work with a specialized dance trainer or dance teacher, that is something I help dancers with! Comment DANCE to learn more about how to work with me!

👉🏼👉🏼Dancers SWIPE if you want to learn the truth about getting higher leaps!

Here’s the thing 👆🏼there are 3 key ingredients to leaping high:

🔑Dancers who leap high have a lot of strength, use power, and momentum to get themselves in the air!

👉🏼I’ve noticed dancers are doing these 3 things in different ways - strength to push off the floor(single leg strength, using that plié) , power to push into the air and stay there (engaging the muscles and harnessing the strength to pop) and momentum as the build up to getting off the ground (using arms, pushing through the feet, big chasé or take off)

Dancers if you want to leap higher, you can’t ignore that you must be training correctly to do so. We are no longer believing we can’t leap. Instead we are saying we need to train better!

If you are ready to train better so you can leap higher, comment LEAP! I’ve got a training plan for you!

Dear Dancers, this is your sign to appreciate dance outside of social media! 👉🏼Swipe to be reminded that it’s okay to show up imperfectly and that we all have hard days even if it’s not shown on social media!

03/18/2024

👯‍♀️Dear dancers, dance competitions are a measure of your hard work. They are an opportunity for you to be challenged, to get on stage, and to demonstrate your performance ability and your dance technique skills!

☝🏼But remember this: 💥Your self worth as a human, and your worth as a dancer, is NOT tied to how you score.

Any kind of mistake you made on stage is a learning opportunity- it’s an opportunity for you to build resilience, to go back and rehearse, and to not give up!

Excellence is not achieved through scoring perfectly!Dancers achieve excellence when they have failed, and when they have made mistakes, but not been afraid to push forward and try again.

If you’re a dancer who is looking to improve their dance competition scores and overall dance technique, I have a 12 week training program for you! Comment DANCE to get the link!

Dancers pirouetting consistently is about finding the perfect center of balance! 👉🏼Swipe to read the number 1️⃣ thing I’ve noticed that all good turners have in common!

The upper body connection in pirouettes cannot be ignored! These 4 things are the secret sauce to better turn technique ⬇️

1️⃣Spotting
2️⃣Head, neck and rib cage alignment
3️⃣Arms that never drop (aka strong port de bras)
4️⃣Connection to the back and shoulder muscles (lats traps, delts, rhomboids!)

So if you want to improve your turns, you need to strengthen the upper body, solidify spotting, and improve posture.

I help dancers improve their pirouettes and learn to turn consistently! If you are a dancer who wants better pirouettes, comment TURN to get on my waitlist to train!

👉🏼Dancers swipe to learn what power is and how to harness it to improve your leaps!

❌ Having that pop and picture perfect moment in your leaps does not come from simply being flexible

💡It comes from understanding the mechanics and ex*****on of the leap to having the muscular strength needed to propel your body vertically!

💥If you want to jump high you need to build strength in the glutes, quads, calves and ankles!

For more exercises and a specific plan to increase your height in your leaps, comment SOAR! I’ve got the perfect mini training plan for dancers. It includes 2(15) minute workouts designed for dancers to increase power in their leaps!

Swipe to read how dancers can stand out during improvisation!

As someone who has run my own audition, and sat during other auditions - I can promise you there will be an improv section.

Improvisation is an important skill for dancers to work on because it allows them to refine their own movement style - this is part of what will make them stand out as a dancer, turn heads, and demonstrate what they bring to the table!

How do you feel about improvisation? Do you love it? Does it make you uncomfortable? Tell me in the comments! 👇🏼👇🏼

Dancers, on this Valentine’s Day in 2024, I want you to read this love letter to yourself and then write your own!

Thank you for being here and sharing your passion for dance! ❤️
