From SMA Michael Weimer
"Effective Immediately: To meet the CSA’s intent of eliminating training which is redundant, antiquated, or doesn’t support warfighting and lethality, the U.S. Army has determined it will eliminate approximately 346 hours of Distributed Learning Courses for Officers and NCOs.
An analysis determined these courses were redundant and/or antiquated when assessed against current training requirements and needs.
Enlisted courses being eliminated are Distributed Learning Courses (DLC) I–VI (formerly known as Structured Self Development (SSD) I–VI), they account for 253 hours or 31 days.
Officer courses being eliminated are the Distance Learning Prerequisite for Commanders Career Course and the Distance Learning Prerequisite for Commanding General Staff Officers Course (P920), these account for 93 hours or 12 days.
164 hours of prerequisite Distance Learning Courses remain and are currently under analysis for potential elimination in the future.
An ALARACT message will publish later today detailing full information on this change.
This We’ll Defend!"
Congratulations to SFC Freeman on your promotion.

Military Family Appreciation Month is a time set aside to recognize you, the military family.
Military families know what it means to serve. Every day, you get up and support your service member, standing by during long trainings and deployments. You know the risks, but you accept this life of service anyway.
You are the backbone of our military. You are the quiet, but steady fuel at home that keeps the fire burning. You keep track of military pay, benefits and news, because you know they make a daily difference in your life. And when your time as an actively serving family comes to an end, you support your veteran.
Serving is just what you do.
Army Directive 2022-09 Soldier Tattoos
Directive announces changes in policy for the allowable placement of tattoos for currently serving Soldiers and applicants for enlistment or appointment.
Changes to the Army tattoo policy allow individuals who meet all other qualifications for appointment or enlistment the opportunity to serve. They also support the Army's People Strategy, our number one priority, by offering Soldiers options for appearance that take into account professional appearance and good order and discipline.
3. Applicability. The provisions of this directive apply to the Regular Army, Army National Guard/Army National Guard of the United States, and U.S. Army Reserve.
Effective immediately, Army policy governing tattoos authorizes:
(1) one visible tattoo on each hand (including the palm), not to exceed one inch in measurement in all directions; an unlimited number of tattoos between the fingers as long as they are not visible when the fingers are closed; and one ring tattoo on each hand.
(2) one tattoo on the back of the neck, not to exceed two inches in measurement in all directions (Tattoos are still prohibited on the head and face (except for permanent makeup as provided in reference 1d, paragraph 3-2b(2)) and inside the eyelids, mouth, and ears. Previously documented tattoos on the neck or hands, for which Soldiers have a tattoo validation memorandum, remain authorized.)
(3) one tattoo behind each ear, not to exceed one inch in measurement in all directions, not to extend forward of the ear lobe.
