Dynamic Paths is dedicated to providing non-pharmaceutical interventions for depression, anxiety, addictions, sugar cravings and other mental health concerns. Our practitioners also work to improve fasting blood glucose in individuals with pre-diabetes and diabetes patients.
I am so excited for this training! Last year was so much fun.
We are going to review the nervous system, including the limbic (reactive brain), pre-frontal cortex (responsive brain), and the polyvagal system.
Once we know what the central nervous system is responsible for, we will discuss how glucose and adrenaline determine which part of our brain is doing the thinking and how food can influence that within minutes or hours.
Since continuous glucose monitors are about to become generally available, you will see how they are useful for mental health as a biofeedback tool.
We will review how much protein is needed to help stabilize mood and how to read labels to feel better today and tomorrow.
We can't forget the importance of sleep, breathing, and movement for the brain to be its best self.
Last, we will review and learn what labs are important to rule out the physical cause of mental challenges.

What is your go to support yourself quote?
Marie Curie was the first woman to win a Nobel Prize. She recognized that there is a fatigue that comes with growth. Sometimes recognizing the struggle is growth. And it is OK to slow down and care for our bodies and ourselves.
This pause may have given her, and maybe
will give us, a chance to thrive.
What little step did you take today for more energy and mental clarity?
What if you set your minimum level for success?
When I try to jump to a big goal I often don't make it. But when I start with small steps I gain momentum because I feel better and I am excited to be moving.
For instance, I have a lot of physical therapy I need to do to recover from an accident. I just decided I was to do 20 minutes most days and call it good. I now find that I am getting stronger and I sometimes continue to do movement for 30 or 40 minutes. If I start to think I don't have time for 40 minutes of movement, I remind myself that I committed to 20 minutes and that I can break it into two 10 minute sessions. I focus on the small step.
