STOMP - Specialized Training of Military Parents
STOMP can provide workshops and webinars to include a combination of special education and healthcare topics pertaining to military families.
STOMP, a parent-directed program, exists to empower military parents, individuals with disabilities, and service providers with knowledge, skills, and resources so that they might access services to create a collaborative environment for family and professional partnerships without regard to geographic location. STOMP began in 1985, it is a project of PAVE. Unauthorized Practice of Law Disclaimer:
Dear Parents:
The US Department of Education has proposed eliminating the requirement for parents to sign consent for schools to bill Medicaid for services like speech, physical or occupational therapy, and nursing. This requirement is part of the IDEA, which ensures children don't lose benefits due to parental consent. Some parents reported that their child’s outpatient services were reduced or eliminated after signing consent for the school to bill Medicaid.
The Council of Administrators of Special Education (CASE) surveyed their members, who reported that this issue was not occurring. We need your input! If you were asked to sign consent for schools to bill Medicaid for outpatient services, please complete the brief survey below.
