Welcome to the Seminole Battalion!! At this week’s Welcome Lab our cadets met their senior leadership and cadre, while learning about all the opportunities that Florida State’s Army ROTC Program has to offer. We’re all excited to make the most of this year and start off strong! Week 2 ✅

First day of PT with the Florida State Army ROTC, and the energy was high! Our cadets not only learned the fundamentals of PRTs but also got to reunite with their fellow cadets, ready to take on the challenges ahead. Here’s to a semester full of growth, grit, and camaraderie. Go Noles!!

On Saturday, August 24th, the Army and the Army Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) lost a stalwart member of joyous service to God and Country. Penny Lessly Carroll Murrell Lyons served 39 years of total service in active duty service in the United States Army (20 years) and Army ROTC (19 years). Her unwavering dedication and kindness shaped the Seminole Battalion for 20 incredible years. Her warmth and wisdom touched so many lives, and her legacy will continue to inspire us everyday. Ms. Penny, you will be deeply missed, but forever cherished in our hearts. May she rest in peace.
Services this Friday, Sept. 6th at noon at The Enrichment Center: 2344 Lake Bradford Road Tallahassee, Florida 32310. Following the service will be the burial at 2pm at the Tallahassee National Cemetery: 5015 Apalachee Parkway Tallahassee, Florida 32311. Lastly, the Repast following the burial: return to The Enrichment Center.

Huge congratulations to CDT Hersey for successfully completing the U.S. Army Nurse Summer Training Program, NSTP, at LRMC in Landstuhl, Germany this summer! CDT Hersey got to work closely with our very own FSU ROTC alum, MAJ Lucciola, a Nursing graduate from the class of 2007! Now a clinical nurse specialist at LRMC, MAJ Lucciola is truly inspiring. We couldn't be prouder of both of you! Go Noles!

Congratulations to all our Seminole Battalion cadets that personally received challenge coins from our Lieutenant Colonel on our last day of PT! Our cadets receive coins as an award for their hard work, dedication, persistence, and grit throughout the semester. We are very proud of everyone for a successful semester and holding this battalion to the highest standards! We can’t wait to see you all next year and a good luck to all our MS3’s at Advanced Camp this summer!

Our MS3’s took a trip up to Fort Moore, Georgia to attend an Infantry and Armor brief led by Captain Cabello and Lieutenant Foodman! After their brief, the cadets got the opportunity to attend a live fire demonstration of M1 Abrams. We would like to extend our gratitude to the US Infantry and Armor branches for having us!

FSU ROTC hosted an open ACFT event!

This event allowed FSU students, friends, and family the opportunity to experience a taste of how our cadets are graded on their physical fitness. This was a great experience for anyone interested in joining our program and understanding what it takes to become a US Army Commissioned Officer. Thank you to everyone that participated; We cannot wait to see new faces at future open events and possibly in our battalion! Be all you can be!
