Keeping Tallahassee litter-free and educated about solid waste, recycling, & our environment!
More info coming soon on our annual Shoreline Cleanup this September! Help be a part of the solution.
Whether driving your car, hiking in the woods or out on the water, stash your trash Always properly dispose of your litter to help . We can all do our part.
The Adopt-a-Street numbers are in for the second quarter of 2024: 177 bags worth of litter were removed from our streets during April, May, and June. Wow! ๐ณโจ
We're so thankful for all the hard work our Adopt-A-Street groups put into their quarterly cleanups! These photos are from Truth Gatherers Dream Center Church during the June cleanup on High Road. ๐๐ฑ๐
Are you ready to help us ? Send us a message to learn more about volunteering, joining our Board, or becoming a street adopter!
Please make sure to verify what items are actually recyclable before putting them in your bin!
Did you know that frozen food boxes, milk cartons, paper cups and other wax-coated cardboard is not recyclable via your curbside bin? It isn't. Place these items in the trash.
Keep Tallahassee Beautiful would like to encourage all our Adopt A Street groups and our faithful cleanup event volunteers to think about using your good works now during the aftermath of the damage from the tornadoes.
If possible, consider scheduling a cleanup on your adopted street this week and spill over a little outside of it to help with bringing some of these neighborhoods back to life. It would truly make a difference! Be sure to avoid any unsafe areas where electrical or repair work continues.
If you have suggestions or ideas to share on places that could really use help, please send us a message or email [email protected].
Thank you for your service all year long!

We'd like to give a shout out to one of our Adopt-A-Street partners, the FSU Sustainable Green Team! โจ Led by Mitch Gans, the FSU Green Team is an multi-departmental collaboration of passionate FSU employees who have been an AAS partner since October of 2022. They strive to promote socially and environmentally sustainable practices by empowering individuals to make the right choices. ๐ฑ One of their accomplishments included implementing a new recycling program at FSU that for the first time recycles plastic drink can rings and prevents them from being sent to the landfill.
Recently the team won an award for the implementation of a zero-waste computing facility from the Florida TaxWatch Government Productivity Awards. ๐ Congratulations and thanks for all your hard work!
