Embark on a nourishing journey with quinoa – an ancient seed that’s fueling the future of plant-based wellness! Hailing from the Andean highlands of South America, quinoa has been a cornerstone of nutrition for millennia. The Incas, who held it sacred, knew it as “chisaya mama” or the “mother of all grains.” Yet, in a delightful twist of nature, quinoa is not a grain at all. It’s a seed – and a miraculous one at that.
Quinoa stands out in the plant kingdom as a complete protein, a rare find in plant-based sources. This means it contains all nine essential amino acids, those fundamental building blocks that our bodies cannot produce on their own. These amino acids are crucial for the synthesis of proteins, which are essential for every cellular function, from building muscle to enzyme production.
Moreover, quinoa is abundant in fiber, which is essential for a healthy digestive system, keeping you full longer and stabilizing blood sugar levels. For those embracing a plant-based lifestyle, quinoa and other seeds are integral to achieving a nutritionally robust diet. They provide a concentrated source of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, which are essential for maintaining a strong and vibrant body.
At Heru Holistic Healing, we advocate for a diet that’s rich in seeds like quinoa, because they are not only dense in nutrients but also align with our principles of natural healing and sustainability. For a balanced plant-based diet, seeds should form a substantial portion of your intake, ideally around 50%. The other half should be a diverse mix of fresh fruits for vitamins and antioxidants; vegetables for fiber, minerals, and more vitamins; leafy greens for iron and calcium; legumes for additional protein and fiber; and herbs for their medicinal properties and flavor.
Incorporating a variety of these plant-based foods ensures that you’re not only getting the full range of necessary macro and micronutrients but also engaging in a way of eating that supports the health of our planet.
Elevate your health with the seed of strength – quinoa. Your journey to holistic well-being starts here.
Nourish, energize, and thrive with nature’s purest gifts. 🌿

Wood, representing the liver and gallbladder, fuels detoxification, playing a key role in your body's cleansing process.🪵
Fire corresponds to the heart, small intestine, pericardium, and triple burner. These are the powerhouses of our bodies, energizing us for life's demands. 🔥
Earth signifies the spleen and stomach, the foundation of our digestion system, critical to nutrient absorption and energy production. 🌍
Metal is linked with the lungs and large intestines, essential players in respiration and waste elimination, keeping us refreshed and purified. ⚖️
Water relates to the kidneys and urinary bladder, maintaining our body's fluid balance, a vital aspect of homeostasis. 💧

🌞💫 At Heru Holistic Healing, we're firm believers in the transformative power of Sun-gazing and Grounding. These practices invite us to harmonize with nature, revitalize our energies, and cultivate a deep sense of inner peace.
Sun-gazing is a sacred practice best observed during sunrise or sunset, when the sun's UV index is at zero, typically during the first hour of sunrise and the last hour of sunset. It's during these times that sun-gazing is safest, minimizing the risk of damage to your eyes (1).
For those new to sun-gazing, we recommend the Hira Ratan Manek (HRM) method (3). This method starts with 10 seconds of sun-gazing barefoot on the earth and increases by 10 seconds each day until reaching a full hour. This method allows for a gradual adaptation to the practice, promoting safety and effectiveness.
Sun-gazing has been said to increase energy levels, enhance mood, and even sharpen intuition. It's a way to connect with the infinite power and beauty of the cosmos, drawing in the sun's energy to fuel our own life force.
Grounding, or earthing, involves making direct, bare skin contact with the earth's surface. Scientific studies suggest this practice can reduce inflammation, improve sleep, and stabilize biological rhythms (2).
At Heru Holistic Healing, we aim to help you reconnect with your true self and the world around you. We believe that by aligning ourselves with nature, we can tap into its healing power and reap the benefits of a holistic balance.
Join us in embracing the natural healing power of the Earth and Sun. Let's journey together towards holistic health and wellbeing.

🪵Wood Element Wednesday🪵
Unlock the remarkable healing potential of nature with our educational focus on Stinging Nettle and Yellow Dock Root for liver support and overall well-being. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the liver is a vital organ associated with the Wood element and plays a crucial role in maintaining balance and the smooth flow of Qi (energy) throughout the body.
The liver acts as a remarkable metabolic powerhouse, responsible for detoxification, nutrient storage, and the synthesis of essential compounds. Imbalances in the liver can disrupt overall health and well-being. That's where the power of Stinging Nettle (Urtica dioica) and Yellow Dock Root (Rumex crispus) comes in.
Stinging Nettle possesses a cooling and drying nature, making it an ideal choice for liver support. It acts as a liver tonic, blood purifier, diuretic, and anti-inflammatory agent. Stinging Nettle supports liver detoxification, promotes optimal liver function, and nourishes the blood, aiding in toxin elimination and reducing inflammation.
Yellow Dock Root complements Stinging Nettle by acting as a liver tonic, blood cleanser, digestive aid, and enhancer of iron absorption. It supports liver detoxification, bile flow for optimal digestion, and liver regeneration. Additionally, Yellow Dock Root purifies the blood, promotes gastrointestinal health, and enhances iron absorption.

🌿❤️ Heart Health Spotlight: The 5 Element Theory & Heru's Chlorophyll Plus 🌿❤️
The heart is not just a physical organ but holds significant importance in traditional Chinese medicine with a concept known as the 5 Element Theory (Yang, 2005). According to this theory, the heart represents fire and is associated with joy, spirit, and emotional well-being.
Heru's Chlorophyll Plus, a powerful blend of natural herbs, can support heart health and overall well-being. Let's explore how each herb in this formula contributes to heart health:
1️⃣ Stinging Nettles: Rich in vitamins A, C, D, E, F, and P, Stinging Nettles promotes cardiovascular health by supporting blood circulation and providing essential nutrients (Johnson et al., 2013).
2️⃣ Bladderwrack: Packed with minerals, Bladderwrack revives the endocrine system and aids digestion, both crucial for maintaining a healthy heart. Its antioxidant properties also strengthen the immune system (Kumar et al., 2015).
3️⃣ Nopal: This cactus is abundant in chlorophyll and antioxidants, promoting heart health by providing vital nutrients and supporting conditions like diabetes (Cárdenas-Valencia et al., 2014).
4️⃣ Linden Flower: Known for its calming effects on the nervous system, Linden Flower helps fortify the cardiovascular system while offering antioxidants and anti-inflammatory benefits (Shrivastava et al., 2017).
5️⃣ Little Hand Flower: With its cooling and astringent properties, Little Hand Flower has been traditionally used to address inflammation and digestive issues, indirectly supporting heart health (Paredes-Carbajal et al., 2018).
Heru's Chlorophyll Plus nourishes the heart by combining these powerful herbs, each playing its unique role in promoting cardiovascular well-being.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the kidneys and urinary bladder play vital roles in our overall health. One kidney is Yin while the other is Yang, symbolizing the balance of life forces. Research suggests the right kidney is more active, making it Yang, while the left kidney corresponds to Yin [1].
The Yin kidney, associated with water, is calm, restful, and governs our vital energy, influencing birth, growth, and development. The Yang kidney, akin to fire, regulates the expulsion of waste fluids, maintaining health and balance [2].
At Heru's Holistic Healing, we have carefully crafted products to support this crucial system.
Heru's Megaseamoss+ is a blend of wildcrafted North Atlantic Irish Moss (Chrondus crispus), wildcrafted Bladderwrack, and organic Burdock Root. This robust mix delivers all 102 minerals needed by the body daily. Irish Moss and Bladderwrack, being red and brown algae respectively, are nutritional powerhouses. Burdock Root, a potent herb, acts as a diuretic and is cleansing and tonifying for the kidneys and blood.
Our Wildcrafted Seamoss Gel w/Bladderwrack combines Eucheuma cottonii, a Caribbean sea vegetable, and wildcrafted Bladderwrack, providing over 98 essential minerals. These products are rich in iodine, benefiting the thyroid, which aids in regulating kidney function [3].

Unveiling the ancient wisdom of Chinese Face Mapping! 🎭🗺️ This traditional practice, credited to Yellow Emperor Huang Di, the father of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), reveals our health through our facial features.
Each part of our face corresponds to a specific organ in TCM:
1️⃣ Forehead: Bladder & Intestines
2️⃣ Between the brows: Liver
3️⃣ Nose: Heart
4️⃣ Cheeks: Lungs & Respiratory system
5️⃣ Mouth & Chin: Stomach
6️⃣ Jaw & Neck: Kidneys
Ever noticed unexpected acne, discoloration, or swelling? 🧐 These could be signs your body is trying to communicate about your internal health.
Acne, redness, or flaky skin on your forehead might mean it's time to review your diet or hydration levels. Persistent pimples between your brows? You might want to ease up on the late nights and alcohol, as this area is connected to the liver.
Swelling or excessive blackheads on your nose could be your heart asking for some TLC. Rosy cheeks might be an indication of respiratory stress. If you're seeing issues around your mouth and chin, it could be due to a diet high in fat, sugar, caffeine or alcohol. And finally, breakouts or discoloration on your jaw or neck could signify a need to hydrate and avoid salty foods.
Remember, our bodies are complex and interconnected systems. 🌐 Always consult with a healthcare professional for any persistent concerns.

🌿 At Heru Holistic Healing, we believe in the interconnectedness of the body. Our approach is guided by the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), which sees the tongue as an essential map to our overall health. 🗺️
In TCM, each part of the tongue corresponds to different organs. The tip relates to the heart and lungs, the center to the spleen and stomach, the sides to the liver and gallbladder, and the back to the kidneys and bladder. 🫀🫁
Indications on the tongue can provide valuable insights into what's happening within our body. For example, a very red tipped tongue could be a sign of anemia. This is just one among many insights that TCM tongue mapping provides. 📍
This diagnostic method helps us find the proper herbs and herbal formulations 💊 suited for the constitution of the individual. We then tailor a healing plan to restore balance and enhance well-being. 🌱

💛🔴⚫️ Harnessing the Power of Yellow, Red, and Black Maca
Discover the extraordinary benefits of combining three variations of Maca: Yellow, Red, and Black. At Heru Holistic Healing, we have harnessed the synergistic effects of these superfoods to offer a holistic approach to wellness.
Yellow Maca (Lepidium meyenii), with its sunny hue, is renowned for its energizing properties, mood enhancement, and support for hormonal balance. As an adaptogen, it helps the body adapt to stress and offers antioxidant protection (Gonzales, 2012).
Red Maca (Lepidium peruvianum), vibrant like a sunset, is a champion for sexual health and fertility. It can improve libido, regulate hormones, and provide support during menopause and menstrual irregularities (Gonzales, 2010).
Black Maca (Lepidium meyenii walpers), mysterious and potent, elevates physical performance, boosts stamina, and enhances mental clarity. It contributes to hormone balance and has been shown to improve memory and learning (Rubio, 2006).
But here's where the magic happens: our carefully crafted blend combines the unique qualities of Yellow, Red, and Black Maca to create something truly exceptional. FIRE🔥 & WOOD 🪵
According to the 5 Element Theory of Holistic Healing, which is based in Traditional Chinese Medicine. The liver, deemed the organ of Spring, harmonizes with green, the color of life and renewal. Charting an interesting connection with nutrition, green foods fortify the Wood element, resonating with the liver. Cucumbers, green apples, moringa, and cilantro are replete with nutrients and antioxidants, reputed to drive detoxification, aid liver function, and bolster Qi - the vital life energy flowing within us. 🌱💚 (Cheung, 2019).
Among the five elements, Fire aligns with the heart. Foods with the vibrant hue of Fire, like tomatoes, strawberries, peaches, and beets, are infused with lycopene and anthocyanins. These antioxidants nurture the heart, optimize cardiovascular functions, and kindle the spirit (Shen), fostering emotional peace and mental clarity. ❤️🍓 (Pitchford, 2002).
Remember, balanced nutrition underpins balanced Qi. Always integrate an abundant mix of food colors onto your plate. What does your rainbow look like today? 🌈🍽
