As the SJP ASU Chapter, we are dedicated to educating the campus and the community of the injustices occurring in Palestine of past and present times.
Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) ASU Chapter is a diverse group of students, faculty, staff and community members at Arizona State University, organized on democratic principles to promote justice, human rights, liberation and self-determination for the Palestinian people. As a university chapter of SJP, we are dedicated to educating students and community members of the abuses currently oc
Today’s rally for Gaza originally scheduled for 4 PM at ASU has been postponed due to safety concerns. A new date will be announced soon
THIS TUESDAY: As Israel continues its genocide in Gaza killing more than 30,000 Palestinians, ASU students and members of the community are standing up to rally for Gaza. ASU has construction contracts worth hundreds of millions of dollars that use Caterpillar equipment. Caterpillar, sustained by the support of ASU, provides the same equipment to Israel to destroy Palestinian homes in the occupied Palestinian territories. Our university should not fund genocide. Our tax dollars should not fund genocide.
WHERE: Corner of College Ave and Apache Blvd at Arizona State University Tempe
WHEN: Tuesday February 20 4 PM - 6 PM
Please bring signs!
Come see us speak at Local to Global this Saturday
We, a coalition of 70+ student organizations from across the state of Arizona, have come together to condemn HB2178 which seeks to enable funding discrimination at all of the public universities in Arizona by allowing students to individually choose which organizations their fees go to. This bill would disproportionately affect groups representing marginalized folks. This bill also seeks to eliminate the authority that elected student governments have over distributing funding, which is inherently undemocratic.
We urge the Arizona State Legislature to vote no on this bill, and further, if the bill does pass through the Senate, we urge Governor Katie Hobbs to use her veto power to strike the bill down. This bill has the potential to destroy the plethora of student organizations at all three of Arizona’s major public universities. We are asking our government to protect these organizations, rather than put them at jeopardy.
WHAT: Rally and march for ASU divestment from the Israeli War Machine and protection of First Amendment rights on all ASU campuses
Calling all who stand for a free Palestine and protections of democratic rights of free speech on campus. Join us as we demand:
1. ASU divest its holdings from any and all companies which are complicit in Israel’s occupation of Palestine, including those that help arm, fund, and provide research and technical assistance to the bombing and killing of innocent Gazan civilians and children.
2. ASU end any of its ongoing research or academic projects that similarly contribute to this end, including all study boards to Israel.
3. State and university officials discontinue any attempts at repression of first amendment rights including allowing pro-Palestine academics and politicians to speak at events and allow pro-Palestine students and organizations to express their views publicly without disciplinary action. To this end, we demand all Arizona legislators vote against House Bill 2759 which appears poised to suppress SJP activities further.

**URGENT: DEMAND ASU TO NOT CANCEL RASHIDA TLAIB**
CALL OFFICE OF LISA LOO: 480-965-4550
EMAIL LISA LOO: [email protected]
Link to email/call template is in our bio!
Lisa,
Arizona State University’s attempt to cancel today’s Rashida Tlaib speaker event is completely unacceptable. Rashida Tlaib must be heard on campus as the only Palestinian member of Congress who plans to speak on an American issue at this event. ASU cannot claim to hold free speech as a principle while denying Palestinians their voices on campus. Cancelling this event puts the university in direct contradiction with its charter as a university “measured not by whom it excludes, but by whom it includes and how they succeed.” ASU cannot impose requirements on the event not imposed on other ASU groups or faculty when they sponsor a lecture. I call on you to allow Rashida Tlaib to speak on campus today.
Sincerely,
Please read our above statement on the demonstration that occurred at the USG Senate yesterday. There has been a lot of misinformation spreading about the event and we wanted to take the opportunity to address that, and also explain why we organized these actions.
Free Palestine 🇵🇸
Students for Justice in Palestine at ASU and other Phoenix area Organizations will be hosting "Squad" member and Democratic Congresswoman from Detroit, MI, Rep. Rashida Talib. She is the ONLY Palestinian-American serving in the U.S. Congress.

ATTENTION PHOENIX: RALLY FOR PALESTINE.
Today we are rallying for Palestine. The World Series is being held in Phoenix at the same time that over 8,000 Palestinian men, women, and children have been indiscriminately killed by Israel. We need to spread awareness to as many people as possible, and take advantage of the spotlight that is being brought to our city.
End the genocide.
