This is the easiest exercise my clients get and it is in MOST programs.
It is called “Static Back” and it helps with so many postural issues that can cause headaches, neck pain, lower back pain, shoulder pain, and those pesky knots in your traps. More on that later.

Lie on your back with your legs at 90* over a chair, focus on your belly breathing and hang out for 5-10 minutes.

They all say “ Food is medicine.” - and it’s not an exaggeration. To treat ourselves well we can start with some small steps such as making green juice from time to time and using good spice such as saffron in our food, tea, or as a supplement. These brightly colored treasures are readily available to us, with delightful tastes and no side effects. They are good for our heart, brain and our waist lines.
Plenty of references are online demonstrating their safety, use and benefits.

In the new year, we are putting our health as top priority because our health is what we rely on for everything. It determines how well we can do the things in life as well as how how we feel day to day. So Happy New Year! Hope your days will be happy and vibrant and filled with colors!

Here’s a simple recipe for green juice - make your own version as you please!

3 Oz broccoli florets, 2 oz kale leaves, one orange, one apple, juice from half a lemon, add ice cubes and water(3 cups), blend in blender for 50 secs. This is a basic green juice. Feel free to add or abstract Ingredients. To your health! Cheers! ❤️

It is utterly true that our brain and body together is an integrated system. Taking care of our body, giving it exercises, great nutrition, water, oxygen and sound sleep will benefit our brain and taking care of our brain, including mental health will help prevent many chronic illnesses. So be kind to our brain, ourselves.

Posture therapy and weight loss in a healthy sustainable manner are good entry points for good health for both our body and brain.

It doesn’t take much flexion for the muscles protecting your lower back to turn off and stop supporting your spine. Give this test a shot and see for yourself.
And then when you are moving throughout your day, see what situations you let your back round and “turn off”.

For me when ever I have a drink at a restaurant or while I’m out I ALSO have a water. The water will help make you feel more full while the sugary beverage will make you want to consume more of what ever you are eating. Go ahead and have those drinks just be conscious of not only what calories it’s giving you but what calories it will make you want.

Many of us have joint pain, and/or muscle pain. Some of us have lived with them for years, some, decades. We often give up hope, thinking nothing could be done. Yet our bodies continue to surprise and amaze us at the most unexpected times. Our fellow humans find out and decode secrets for healing day after day. At the mean time, how do we incorporate new knowledge and new discoveries in our lives? I would say, keep learning, and practicing, and every day is a new day.

Unpopular opinion for the fitness industry.
We would be out of a job if everyone moved more. There’s a reason the first commercial big box gym didn’t open until 1965 and I’d argue it wasn’t a big hit for years to come.
BUT

With the lack of movement and the influx of services and technology pushing us to stay home and sedentary. Gyms and personal trainers are a necessity and will most likely become more so as we move in this sedentary direction.

I also like the idea of killing multiple birds with one stone. I drive to work and listen to podcasts or books. I take a book to the dog park and sometimes post! When it starts to cool down will join me on jogs

*Poor Posture is not always the cause of pain* but if you can’t figure out why something hurts, and doctors clear you of other possibilities, come on in and we will check out your posture and see if putting you in alignment will change your pain!
Many times our bodies are starved of the proper nutrients or motion that it requires to be healthy.

I recommend bringing bands with handles, “super bands”, “mini loop bands” and a lacrosse ball. In my bag I also have an interval timer, sometimes my training watch, and a jump rope.

But if you take away ANYTHING from this it is to bring a key lock to the gym, yes it can be cut, but it can’t be broken into like combination locks can. Every locker that I witnessed being broken into at the gym was a combo lock.

Prioritize sleep is a good strategy for weight loss. Develop “Slim-Mindset” to keep the pounds off. According to Dr. Kellyan Petrucci, author of “Bone Broth Diet”, there are several aspects of the Slim-Mindset we really need to pay attention to and develop if we do not have them. Otherwise we will use food as an escape and for comfort.

I realize I said BPA free 4 times without telling you guys what is is and what’s wrong with it.
Bisphenol A- is a chemical found in many plastics. It can affect everyone from unborn children (development of the prostate in a fetus, infants and children). To adults because, long story short, it is a compound that disrupts hormone products.
for me is the easiest to find of it’s quality and like I said it just tastes good and makes me feel good.

I do not count calories, nor do I tell my clients to count calories… more than once. Understanding how many calories you should get in a day based on your weight, activity level, and goal is important. Going crazy by counting your calories everyday? Not important. Understanding this burger a fry and a drink is almost as much calories as any sedentary person needs in a day, a little important.
Make these meals special occasions, make these meals a treat, you can make this meal work for you and your goal.
Rule # 1 Eat Food.
Please. No one likes hanger.

There is so much information out there when it comes to nutrition and workouts and my whole goal is to make it easy for you guys.
Men! Drink 3 Liters of water a day with whatever else you drink.
Women! Drink 2 liters a day minimum along side with anything else you drink every day.
Caffeine and alcohol are ok, just make sure you get that water!
