With the Super Bowl ahead of us, DID YOU KNOW… that the number of people who would meet the criteria to have a problem with their gambling has increased from 5.7% on 2012, to almost 20% by 2022!

With betting available at your fingertips, and sports betting being legal and incentivized, we NEED to be aware of this, and encourage people to reach out for help if they think they may have a problem with their gambling. ❤️There’s no shame in admitting you have a problem… they are designed to be addictive!

Signs to watch for with sports betting and gambling addictions ahead of Super Bowl Sunday With sports betting apps like Fanduel and Draft Kings, it's easier than ever to gamble. An expert says that it's the easy access that makes it dangerous.

Here's something to 'Smile About!' 🙂

While spending some time with my sweet nieces the other day, I pulled out my 'Smile Squad' notes to write a little encouragement to our server, and they wanted to join me!

Afterwards, my other niece said "Aunt Neanie, I started passing these out at my school and they were covering the lockers around the school!"
I was so proud of her for doing what she could to pass along some encouragement and kindness! 🙂

Here's another one...
I wrote one for a server recently that was struggling- it was a busy day, and he felt like he couldn't keep up and kept apologizing, and thanking us for our patience. After I handed him the note, he said "This is why I love the Zepf Center! I go there and they help me so much! I can't wait to check out these videos!"

We just never know what someone else is struggling with... and the holidays can bring many feelings and emotions to the surface... but we can each take a moment to put love in ACTION!

Love is an action word! Be encouraged- it doesn't take much to turn someone's day around. 😊

The Zepf Center Prevention Program had a great time sharing our Pet Assisted Wellness Services (PAWS) and the Smile Squad with the community at the Back to School Bash! (images blurred to protect the idenity of the youth) Many youth enjoyed engaging with Jasper (PAWS) and writing notes of encouragement to others, as well as taking the Smile Squad notes back to spread kindness at their schools! :)

"The Back to School Bash was a wonderful end to our summer programming. We were thrilled to welcome over 200 guests with food, face painting, corn hole, school supplies giveaways and more. Special thanks to Imagination Station Toledo, Zepf Center PAWS and Zepf Center Prevention for supporting this event!"

Did you know, that those who have a problem with gambling are 5 times more likely to die by su***de? Gambling is the hidden addiction that can often go unseen.

Did you know, that over ½ of Americans, or 260 million people, report that they are online gamers? Online gaming can have gambling components that players can easily get involved in, which could lead them down a path to developing a problem with gambling.
